I ordered this during COVID-19 lockdown and my gym is closed which means exercising at home. I ordered this particular one because 1) it was rated as one of the best yoga mats, 2) for the extra length (70”), and 3) for the extra thickness (1/2”). It is 24” wide. I workout on hardwood floors and my knees and elbows need the extra padding. I don’t do many yoga moves so balancing on a thicker surface was not a concern although I didn’t find the thickness to throw me off (anymore than if I were standing on a flat surface) during the balancing moves I do throw in. The length is plenty long for my 5’7” frame – all of me from head to toe is on the mat when doing everything from crunches to planks to leg lifts – no head bashing on the edge of the mat or floor every time I come down from a crunch, and both feet and hands fit on the mat during mountain climbers. There was no slippage of the mat during any exercise, using either side, and my footprints that sink into the foam quickly return to normal flatness when I’m done. The mat edges (head and toe) flattens out quickly from being rolled up when placed “roll-side” down so no fighting with or trying to position my hands on the top to keep it from rolling up. It’s easy to clean and the handy-dandy strap is easy to remove and put on for easy carrying. When the gym does reopen, I will be bringing this mat with me so I’m not using theirs, which may or may not be cleaned after every use. I am very pleased with this mat and no longer have an excuse NOT to exercise at home.

Received this product on time and placed it on the floor to expand the mat to its full length and shape. This took about 1-2 minutes to open the box, remove the clear wrap, and place the 2 Year Warranty Card on the table to read the next day and archive with my warranty documents in the E-File DTD Aug-9, 2021.I purchased it in black for physical therapy exercises at home.After using it for two days I have found that it relieves the stress on the parts of the body that makecontact with the floor. Since I will be using it every day for 30 days I will know if the 1/2 inch holds up tothe daily routine prescribed by the doctor.I have placed this mat on top of a 1/2 inch 10 ‘ x 12’ rug with a dense carpet pad under the rug.The surgeon has given me 30 days of “Pre-OP” exercises and I noticed the Physical Therapy Facility has mats exactly like this one: 1. On the top it is smooth; 2. On the bottom the ridges run top to bottom 72″;and the middle is cellular like memory foam . . . press down, release, it returns to original position.I plan to Edit this review at the end of the 30 days and report the results based on “PRE” and “Post” results of the quality of this product based on the vendor’s descriptions on Amazon.I do not accept gifts or money from any of the companies that sell the products on Amazon. First off, I want to be clear: I am NOT writing a review to get free products; that’s not me. I write reviews when something really wows me, or makes me happy. And also, to help other people in their searches. That aside, I have never owned a yoga mat, or even sat on one before this. I purchased this one in particular, after looking at about 30 or so- some up to $70! (Ridiculous!) And most cost more if you want an actual color. Not true of this mat. After reading almost all of it’s reviews, and reading the fact that it was THE number one top selling yoga mat, (on Amazon), it was the thickness I wanted, the right color, material, a 2-year warranty, and just $18?! I purchased it immediately! Two days later, I was very pleasantly surprised! It was packaged super great. I rolled it out, laid down, and wondered why the heck I didn’t do this earlier. Feels like heaven on my back. I’m a 53-year old female whose joints need tender care. I only do light yoga, stretches, am only 125 lbs., so I can tell that this will last me quite a while. Excellent quality. I could even sleep on it, in the event of an emergency. Lastly, it has Velcro straps to hold it together, and a nice shoulder sling. It is perfect!

Packaging: It came in a sturdy rectangular cardboard box that said Yoga on it. I didn’t like how it let possible package thieves know what might be contained inside but great packaging otherwise. The yoga mat came rolled up in a plastic wrap, which was fairly easy to remove.Contents: I got the green yoga mat and it came with an adjustable velcro carrying strap already secured to the mat. There was also a warranty card. There was a bit of a plastic smell coming form the yoga mat but it quickly dissipated after using it once.I’ve only used the yoga mat twice so far but I am loving it. It’s such a game changer to my work outs, especially compared to my bed and floor, haha! I can confirm that it very thick, slip resistant, and comfortable. i didn’t look at the dimensions prior to buying the mat, but it is so much longer than I expected! Width is normal size in my opinion. I don’t know if it really is tear resistant yet… only time will tell!

Great foam for my needs! I am using this for a different purposes then most. I am assuming that people are using as intended for yoga. I needed foam for a kydex press (making knife sheathes). This type of foam is supposed to withstand temps up to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and it seems to do well so far. This is a great bargain for my purpose and will likely buy another one when I get through my current foam. Pressed as 1 inch for my first few sheathes but I am going to try .5″ as well to see what gets best definition. As for yoga uses I can not attest to that, as far good foam I will say it’s very good and at a great price.UPDATE: I got really great results with 1″ as well as .5″. The 1 inch has been completed and .5″ sheath is still in process of being finished. I like the results of the .5″ in my case better because of sharper definition, which may be lost in picture a bit. I will say I have pressed 6-8 sheathes thus far at least possibly more, and the foam is still rock solid with no memory of any sheathes. I do use an old t shirt wrapped a couple of times for a small heat barrier that does not lose the definition much at all. I remain with the position that this is a great deal for kydex press foam and highly recommend for those looking for foam at a great price for this purpose. Although I do not recommend you going in to your wives/gf’s exercise equipment and hacking up her yoga mat because she likely to turn your knife on you! Just buy your own.

I have been using this mat under my yoga mat at the gym for Pilates and Yoga classes. The added padding is very helpful when completing floor exercises. Now that we are working from home I began working out at home. Thank goodness I had this pad! My husband joined me for a yoga class and kept complaining that our floor was hard, even with his yoga mat. When he saw my set up, he was jealous. This lead to me purchasing a second one these! He used it yesterday for the first time and said it made a huge difference. Its thick enough to make a difference but thin enough that it is easy to roll back up and is light. I roll up both my yoga mat and this mat together so that I don’t have to carry two items. It comes with a handy strap with velcro which adjusted perfectly even with both mats rolled up together. I had mine for about 4 months now and when placed side by side to the new one, you can’t tell the difference.

I have VERY tender knees and tender bones from osteoporosis. I find this mat to be very comfortable when I do my yoga routines especially in any kneeling position. I do not find it too thick as to be unsteady in upright poses. It is WONDERFULLY soft. I will definitely buy again or even add another color before I need a new mat as I am that pleased with it. It is an excellent product for the price. I have been doing yoga for decades now and I am delighted with this find.

This exercise mat is actually pretty fantastic given its inexpensive price. I purchased this mat to use at an outdoor “boot camp” exercise group I just joined. The padding is cushy and thick enough to protect your back, knees, and other weight bearing body parts utilized when exercising.I liked the nylon strap that came with the mat as well. It’s nice to be able to roll the mat up, put the strap on, and toss it over my back. It keeps the mat from unrolling and getting destroyed in the back of my car. That and it also keeps me from looking ridiculous when trying to carry a mat that won’t stay rolled up!I did some jumping on the mat wearing tennis shoes and it’s true to the claim that it is anti-tear. I was surprised it didn’t rip the moment my less than beach-body ready bod started flopping around on it!Wash it with a damp cloth to get any residual dirt off and you’re good to go! Also, let it dry before rolling it up because it can get stinky. Speaking from experience here.

I’m 5’6/5’7 and 180 pounds. It’s very squishy and supporting, you only feel the ground if you really dig your elbow in(like attempt to pierce it with your elbow) so the thickness is nice. I can sit on it and lay on it flat out comfortably and without any body parts touching the floor(though if you’re 6’0+ you probably won’t be able to do this, small human privilege). I was jumping in it a lot and it didn’t slip pretty much at all so I think it’s pretty stable for most work outs.

I just received this in the mail, and I knew immediately I would like it. It is incredibly cushioned, which for me is of major importance. I have bad knees, and regular mats are never cushioned enough for me. I bruise easily, but this seems like it will prevent any sort of bruising or soreness on my knees or hips. I don’t really do any impact type exercise, so I cannot give a review to it on that. I do however do Piyo daily, as well as a few other body weight resistance and strengthening exercises, and this has an awesome grip. No more sliding or falling due to instability issues caused by no traction. I look forward to being able to do the exercises without fear of a few routines again! On a side note, I haven’t noticed any odd or offensive smells, so that’s a bonus! I am actually considering ordering a second mat for my husband! He is 6’3, and this seems like it is long enough, and soft enough for his back injury, for him to use as well
