I know that the karambit originated as an Indonesian agricultural utility knife, but my imagination associates karambits with fictional silent assassins. Many karambits are too small for my large hands; I ordered this karambit when I saw that its handle is full-sized. I doubt that I’d use this karambit as my EDC knife, but it provides distinctive functionality at an affordable cost.The package includes the karambit knife and a hard ABS plastic sheath; the sheath is strongly riveted and has a belt clip plus cutouts for strap-mounting. The sheath utilizes friction fit: nubs inside the sheath securely mate with depressions in the ABS plastic karambit handle. The sheath rotates in 45 degree steps on the belt clip; the sheath can be worn on the left side with the karambit handle 45 degrees forward for a (martial arts, index finger in ring) right-handed reverse-grip or can be worn on the right side with the karambit handle 45 degrees forward for a (utility, pinky finger in ring) left-handed forward-grip. The karambit itself is ambidextrous, but the sheath cannot be modified to reverse the hand grips.The karambit has a full tang handle that is optimized (finger depressions and thumb anchor) for forward-grip utility use. The blade metal is machined thinner than the handle tang and the blade cross-section is a straight wedge with no bulging backbone; the blade is plenty thick for any imaginable situation. The blade has an OEM well-machined cutting edge that still merits touch-up (thumbnail drag test) with whetstone and leather strop; sharpening a concave knife edge IMO can be challenging.

This is a crazy looking blade. it has a nice snug fit in the holster, and the blade is quite menacing. really a great blade and cuts nicely.
