I was skeptical about this unit and finally got a chance to test it – well, I’m super impressed! I was able to bake whole potatoes in about an hour on a not so sunny day towards the end of the day. The temperature inside reached to about 350 degrees on the gauge and that’s impressive considering it was more cloudy than sunny. I’ll test it again with some meat on a full sunny day and update this review.

I am very happy with the quality and performance of the solar cooker.I was skeptical about how well it would really work, and to my great surprise….it really does work amazingly!The 1st thing I tried: baking 4 chocolate filled croissants and was shocked at how well they baked.-I did check on them and once I saw that they were just about done, I left them in and left the oven open just enough to keep the heat in and just allow the steam to escape slowly. This allows the baked goods to crisp up.They turned out fabulous.I have cooked chicken (cut into small strips), potatoes and carrots.It all took about 1 1/2 hrs to cook (or that’s how long I left it in for).I did use a meat thermometer to make sure the meat was cooked.It is large enough to cook for 2 or 3 people.When I opened the oven to check on it, the aroma of all the ingredients was awesome.I could see the chicken cooking in the tomato juice (I use spicy tomato juice instead of tomato sauce for cooking).I preheat the oven by putting a small container with water in the oven to prevent the oven from over heating.I wait till the temperature reaches 150 degrees and then I remove the water and insert the tray with whatever food I am going to be cooking.This is a great product!The outer cover is of good protective quality.The metal tray is a black non-stick material.The oven mitt and pad that are included in the package do come in handy when handling the hot tray handle and the tray itself.It comes with 10 disposable aluminum trays to cook in, but I like to use my silicone mini baking trays:Walfos Mini Silicone Loaf Pan Set – 4 Pieces Non-Stick Silicone Bread Loaf Pan, Just PoP Out! Perfect for Bread, Cake, Brownies, Meatloaf, BPA Free & Dishwasher SafeYou can find them here on Amazon.I am really impressed with quality of the product and how well it really works.And I have been doing all of my cooking and baking from my balcony.My balcony faces west and I do get direct sunlight from 2-7pm.It is safe because there is no electric or fire used.It is great for any type of outdoor activity or using at home.It is not heavy, but it does have some weight to it, but not enough to say it’s heavy.It zips up and has a shoulder strap. It’s like carrying a big purse.I wish I could buy another one…??♀️I just can’t say enough good things about it!!!If you’re thinking about getting one of these types of solar cookers, I would say get this one and get it now.I will continue to update as I use it more and more. I can’t wait to try cooking more meals and baked goods.
