I’ve seen these products for a few years and always been interested but don’t like the price tag. Throughout this COVID pandemic, my girlfriend and I have formulated necessities for prolonged issues and for our camping adventures. I had a little extra money and decided to go for it. I love the idea of the oven and it’s ability to be used anywhere. I imagined using it at the beach, camping, or where fires were banned. After plenty of research on it It came…..I opened the box and loved the bag, and packaging it came with as well as the accessories. But as soon as I put the handle on the tray to slide in the tube- I tried to see how well the cleaning sponge fit inside the heating tube and it imploded on itself. Not even 5 minutes into unboxing. Needless to say I returned it and received another in a few days.The second one came, and seemed to look great. I did notice that the rubber that is meant to seal the tubes looked a little different in texture and fit between the two. I am not sure if this was an aftermarket or refurbrished product or what, but my current solar oven doesn’t fit as snug as I imagined it would. But that doesn’t effect cooking in my observations. In all actuality the tube keeps food very moist. To the point. Where I had to drain it a few times when I used the muffin molds included to make burger sliders.Overall I love it. It looks a little flimsy but in its bag and taken care of I don’t see one reason it wouldnt last. So far I’ve made sliders, veggies, tilapia, and butter and garlic cannabis shrimp. I would think that you can make tons of things with this after some experimentation.I don’t remember seeing instructions on using the sun dial for maximum efficiency- but once I did realize that was what it was for it was pretty self explanatory. Maybe they aren’t included in all tube shipments I’m not sure but it’s a great help when you can’t stare directly at the sun to verify the angle you need.

Finally got to cook with my Sport Pro-pack. Cooked very well. It is wonderful how fast it cooks in bright sun light. I am well pleased with it and will be cooking with it more often now that I have tried it out. That first part I wrote some time ago. Now for the update: I have 2 of these now, one is the Pro Pack and the other is the sport. Although the pro pack I bought years ago didn’t have all the items in it that the new ones do I have added those items to mine as they have been made available. Including the the alignment devise. I have also ordered the new stove GoSun is bringing out called the Fusion which is a larger, but still portable stove. These stoves are amazing. When cooking in them food stays moist and tender compared to other methods of cooking. Cooking time is a bit more but the results are so much better. There is a learning curve as to how to do things, but nothing too difficult. You won’t regret having one of these even if it’s just a conversational piece as you cook up your meal. You’ll be surprised at the attention they get.

We’ve cooked several meals using the Gosun now, and it just works. The temps inside were much higher than expected, which means it cooks very quickly for a solar cooker.The diameter of the unit, and the size of the trays, only allows a narrow space to cook, but it can be worked around. My wife is very happy with the way it cooks/bakes (yes, it does great on bread) and it doesn’t seem to burn things, or remove the moisture. The food out of it is flavorful and moist. This is a great cooker to take camping or use for simply not heating the kitchen on warm days. Worth the money just as a backup way to cook if the power goes out, but it can be used for so much more.

I have been following these for a while now, and I was skeptical of what it advertised until I used it. I was blown away with how well it works when there is sun. When its cloudy it’s a much different story though. When I tried to use it and it was cloudy i couldn’t get it to cook even after leaving it for an hour or so, it did start to get warm, but it got dark before it could heat enough to cook. Overall I’d recommend it if you can afford it and are into this kind of thing.

This gadget is easy and fun to use and has a surprisingly large capacity. Food made in it comes out delicious and juicy (probably because it’s cooked in its own juices). I was able to use it in full and partial sun and it makes a hearty meal for two or a modest meal for three

This is excellent – fast cooking, which is great for days that have partial sun. I’ve used it for roasting garlic & onions, fajita veggies, potatoes, and veggie dogs. We have already pre-ordered the grill!

We’ve used homemade solar box ovens for 25 years. Every now & then look to see what’s available commercially. The GoSun products really caught my eye. Decided on the GoSun Sport as it would be portable & could prepare enough cooked food for 2 people. This really does cook fast. We made some muffins in the early morning sun that were baked in 35 minutes! And the texture was perfect. We’ve already used it several times and everything is great. I would caution about 2 things. First, please know it does get very hot inside the tube so be mindful when removing or checking on food. It also retains the heat for a while (a good thing). Secondly, when cleaning the cooking tray, be careful of the edges – they can be sharp (like a paper cut only more.)Cleaning is easy with the included pads which attach to the end of the cooking tray (follow the instructions). Cleaning the tube must be done carefully and when the tube is cool inside. It’s bulky to handle but easy to clean.I choose the bundle as it was a good value & it included an extra cooking tray, 10 mini-loaf silicone pans, water container & a padded durable zippered carry case.Overall, a great product we look forward to using for many years.
