This is the perfect multi-purpose pack. If you like a rugged, comfortable pack that is suitable for EDC or a three-day outing then this bag is for you.I live in Montana and when I go out in the woods I need a bag that can carry a lot. You can go days without seeing another human being and you have to be ready for all contingencies. In winter, there is ample room for extra layers of clothes and my camera gear. The MOLLE webbing means I can transfer MOLLE compatible gear to the outside of my pack and create more room in the pack. The hydration system is excellent and the side bags zip shut so that your additional water bottles don’t fall out of your pack.Unfortunately, Camelbak has discontinued the item. There are still some of these packs still available but they will be gone, soon. Their BFM bag is supposed to be even better but they are expensive.

I bought this pack for work. I do wildlife work and often find myself in remote areas where I need to carry a good bit of gear and equipment. This pack seems well made and has quite a few areas to store gear. I have had a CamelBak Mule for many years and decided to stick with this company because of the durability. The bottom on this pack looks a little thin but its hard with modern materials how long it will last. Its a great pack if you travel especially flying because you can put a bunch of clothes and what not in it and still carry easily through the airport. I feel its a bit big for a day pack but would be excellent for multi day hikes or bug out bag.

Just what I expected in a Camelbak product, and more. The bag is huge, so huge I could not use it as my carryon baggage when I deployed to the Middle East. But I am more than satisfied with the purchase.

Size: I’m 5.7 or 67in tall and 160lbs. People say I look like a kid going to school with this bag on lol. But the positioning of the bottom support strap is spot on and the straps are highly adjustable so I can get it to the point we’re the load bearing is even between my shoulders and waste. Which makes for a comfortable hike, even the bottom straps can be adjusted to tighten on your waste if you feel the bottom of your bag has too much playDurability: I can’t attest to the durability because I’ve only ran a 2mile with 40lbs in it, but it’s made out of the same material as other camel backs and they last me for years.Compartments and construction: As far as storage goes this thing has plenty, it’s a little untraditional compared to other ruck sacks because it comes with extra zippers and handles, and can transition from two shoulder strap traditional bags to a throw over bag or easily accessible set up bag or a mix of both (It’s almost like a dump sack because of how large the first compartment is) All of the compartments have an additional pouch on the inside so you can bundle things together like a A-Bag, Mesa, snack etc. The side compartments also have little cup holders that keep your beverage from sloshing around while your doing your thing. And the bottom zipper is a.. “choosable Compartment” I say this because the compartment can be taken down from the inside to add additional storage to the first compartment, and is held up by Velcro. I use if for my wet weather gear and essentials, because it’s quick and easy to access. The bladder that comes along with this package is only 100 oz, and I was worried about how the bladder would hold up agains the weight of the ruck sack against my lower back but unlike other camel backs that put the weight of the bladder between your back and bag, this one has a stretchy pouch on the inside that allows the bladder to float without additional pressure from your gear. And the small organizer pouch on the back is high enough for me to reach over my shoulder and grab a snack ☺️ ?? I like it

Love this bag! I have been wanting this for awhile and finally got it! It meets all my expectations and is perfect for a diaper bag on our trips to Disney and the water reservoir comes in clutch!

Been in the market for a new bag. I have some old standard issue gear as any vet does. I was using an military issue bag on because it’s what I had and I knew it’s tough and durable. Went on a decent hike in the woods about 4 miles with my bag loaded with about 30-40 lbs of gear. My lower back was killing me so I started looking for a new bag. I got the camelbak HAWG which is a great bag for being light and on the move, but couldn’t carry the things I needed for a few days of camping. So back on the hunt I went. Did months and months of comparing and ended with this bag. I love this bag super comfortable, weight distribution is great. I’m a big dude 6”1’ 310 and a lrg waist this waist belt has plenty of room for me and someone who is larger. Definitely a big plus. I like the mesh pouches sure beat trying to organize everything in layers in a giant section. especially the little things that always sink to the bottom. Have 30-40lbs In and on this bag and I can hardly feel the weight. Has a go bag a camping bushcraft bag this bag definitely has you covered. Next on my list is a bag for my girl. If the skirmish isn’t as big then it’s more than likely going to be that. I hope this helps someone. I won’t need and upgrade ever if the quality holds true to form for camelbak.Ps. I added a shoulder strap pouch set for ease of access. Light Cat snack etc. the molle is exceptional for that. I also swapped out the clips for something that I can easily swap around if one breaks. The originals are just as sturdy tho

Upon consideration I selected the Camelbak Rubicon due to a consideration of price, multicam option, and organization. I have used it every day at work for three months and reccomend it to anyone looking for an EDC three day bag with superior hydration, organization and capacity.Pros1st. Hydration in this bag is the best hydration system I have ever seen. It is simple to remove the included three liter reservoir and refill in a few minutes even when fully loaded. The full size bottle pouches can hold most any reasonable bottle or canteen you can find. With simple access to over 7 liters of beverages at your discretion this bag is designed for extended use in hot and humid climates.2nd. Organization in this bag allows effective daily carry of a complete utilitarian EDC. A full change of uniform, boots, first aid kit, tool kit, lunch, drinks, administrative supplies, laptop, and various other items will stay organized.3rd. Capacity, this bag has a true 47 liter capacity meaning it has the ability to carry anything required in a days work. Using packing cubes it would be easy to prepare a week long vacation using this bag.Cons:1st. Padding limites the comfortable weight load to roughly 35lbs plus water. You could easily carry seven liters of water in this bag, in addition to your load, so be careful. As the volume this bag can hold, may encourage you to carry more than what is comfortable for the bags suspension.2nd. 500d Codura is an excellent option for weight reduction but be wary of abrasion as it will not hold up as well under abuse.3rd. Vanishing act, this bag is far larger than most people expect. It is easy to lose items and find them weeks later. All in all it is a great piece of kit designed to be carried daily by those who are looking for an alternative to a duffle bag with great organization and hydration ability.

At first I was upset because there was a portion of the solid fan pushing into my back– BUT it’s millable so you can customise the hard back on it to contour to your body however you like. Of course, it’s Camelback so it’s way overpriced.

I have used this as my everyday bag ever since I purchased it. Being full time army this bag makes my life so much easier, need to worry about how much your bag can hold so you can figure out what to bring? Worry not! This thing has so much room it’s ridiculous, I leave my cold weather and wet weather gear in hear constantly. On field exercises it’s got the room to pack extra uniforms one pair of boots and still has the room for my solar panel and generator. Worth every Penny

I bought this pack specifically to bring on missions when I fly with the plane. My other pack which is just slightly smaller was in the abu camo pattern and I switched to ocp a while ago. My other pack of SOC brand, which is a great brand. My everyday carry pack I have on the flightline is a smaller ocp SOC and I love it.This Camelbak will be great though due to its capacity, ridgid back plate that adds awesome stability, comfort and weight distribution. We get issued camelbaks for hot weather but it’s just the bladder with a small camelbak pack. Those are great so I figured I’d try this one out. The molle attachments are nice, I have a admin pouch coming and it has 2 water bottle holders on each side built in, or for other gear. There is also molle in the biggest compartment at the top for smaller molle pouches to hold various items.Overall I am very pleased with it. You get what you pay for and camelbak gives you a solid product.
