100% satisfied!!!

We purchased this tent after researching big tents that can handle strong winds. The browning big horn 2 room tent did not disappoint!!!! We wanted to upgrade out of our dome tent as we would be camping / deer hunting for 10 nights. We were tired of crawling around our dome tent. The Big Horn is exactly what we needed! We set it up for the first time ever right after finding our camp spot. Took my husband and I about 20 mins but will be much faster the next time. The Southern Arizona winds gushed heavy and hard for 2 days during our trip. The tent stood sturdy even when some other tents in our camping party were falling down and blowing around. We did purchase and use heavier duty tent stakes. We had a steady rain overnight and the tent remained totally dry. There was water accumulated on top of the tarp we set the tent on but no water seeped through the tent floor. The tent is nice and roomy! It’s large but set up was no more difficult than any of our other smaller tents. We had a queen size cot, several camp tote boxes, a portable toilet, 2 chairs, and 5 gear/clothing totes. Still plenty of room to walk around. The cot and toilet were new to us this year and made our ten day camping trip soooo much better! We backpack camp too and are used to less comfortable camping situations but for several day camping trip with a vehicle….. this is the only way I want to go for now on! We are so happy with the quality and the size of this tent! It’s so worth the investment. I read some reviews of water leaking during rains but ours was dry. Taking the tent down was easy peasy (it was so nice to even pack up the contents inside because I could walk around instead of crawling!). The tent and all parts fit easily back into the storage bag. In fact, the storage bag even had enough room that we were able to store in it the tarp we used under the tent. The Browning Big Horn 2 room tent (along with the Coleman queen size cot / mattress and the portable flushable toilet) made our 10 day camping / hunting trip soooo much more comfortable! I believe this is the first review I’ve ever written on Amazon but we are so happy with the product I just had 5 star review! PS: We were blessed to have seen the SpaceX rocket launch, one night while camping, as viewed in the photo of it over our tent!

Great family tent! Very excited for the summer!

(UPDATED: 12/30/2016) -Amazing tent, still 5-stars!! I just wanted to update, since we have used the Browning Big Horn Family Tent for three camping seasons (2014, 2015 & 2016) so far. This tent has been amazing! We have camped in conditions with cold/hot temperatures, high winds, severe rain and hail. Yes, HAIL. The tent has held up beautifully, through all of our camping adventures, and I would still highly recommend this tent. In regards to the flooring, it did leak a little during our trip to Steamboat Springs. Considering it rained every single morning and afternoon/evening, it didn’t actually leak until the day it hailed for 40 minutes straight. It wasn’t light hail, it was torrential. I noticed it was coming through one of the doors, that was facing the direction of the hail. Not a problem though, the rest of tent did great. I called ALPS/Browning when we got back and the customer service was amazing, they said it shouldn’t have leaked, and sent a replacement tent body the next day!! This was the second time, I had to call about a replacement part, the first was about a tension rod that had broken and they sent a replacement for that next day as well. Besides the tent, the customer service and warranty service agents are fantastic! An excellent tent, backed by a great company. Me and my family love this tent! We are so excited to start the 2017 camping season with the Big Horn Tent.(ORIGINAL REVIEW – MAY 2014)This past weekend, we were finally able to put the tent up for the first time, before going on a community campout this weekend in our HOA’s backcountry. First, we put down our footprint (heavy duty reversible tarp from Costco) and then pulled out the tent, poles, stakes and rainfly. The instructions were very clear and concise, and are sewn directly into the storage bag so you don’t need to worry about it getting lost. Once we had the tent folded out completely, and all of the poles extended it took my husband and I, about 15 minutes to complete the setup (and we’re novices). The tent when it is complete is 10 x 15 feet, and a center height of 7’ 3’’. My husband is 6’1’’ had PLENTY of headroom all around the tent and not just standing in the middle. He does have to bend down slightly when entering the tent, but he didn’t find that to be an issue. The tent and floor material seem to be high quality and very durable for a $300 tent. It will have to withstand me, my husband, our 5 year-old daughter and 2 Samoyeds ( 45 lbs. and 85 lbs.).The tent can be divided into two rooms, each room on one side of the zippered divider panel has 3 pockets for storage. Each room has its own separate entrance, which we absolutely love! There is one hook in the middle, that can be used for handing a lantern. There are 6 windows (4 on the walls and 1 on each door). One thing I would like to mention, is that there are no tie backs for the windows on the walls or the door. Not an issue for us, but something to note when purchasing. In one room, we set up 3 sleeping cots which are each 75″L x 25″W x 16″H, and they fit perfectly, taking into account about 5 inches of space in between the cots and wall.I have attached pictures of the interior, since there are absolutely NONE on the internet. So, we hope these pictures give you a good idea of the tent.We love this tent so far, and are VERY excited to take it out!

Not the quality you would expect and not best for families with small children and/or dogs.

Browning Big Horn 8-Person TentWe purchased this tent for our whole family including two dogs to go camping in the Pacific NW. We typically experience different types of ground including gravel, dirt, sand, and concrete. We experience rain, and most often high winds. We selected the Browning tent due to our understanding of the quality of most Browning products. We wanted a tent that was large enough for our family and built with enough quality to withstand the elements we encounter while camping. We were very disappointed in the quality and workmanship of the tent we received. We spent the extra money looking to have something substantial from Browning and I do not believe that this tent lives up to the Browning name. I put thought and research into this review to hopefully help others decide if this is the right tent for them. I have also included possible work arounds that might help others that are considering this tent as well.The Good:The tent is good looking it is certainly aesthetically pleasing. There have been incorrect comments about the color online and I can tell you it is the brown and yellow as you would expect from Browning. You have plenty of floor space and height. My 6’4 husband was very pleased with the height inside of the tent as he did not have to hunch over. Our family cot system was able to fit inside including the beds for both of our shepherd dogs. There are 4 windows and screens on the two doors which allow for plenty of ventilation.The Bad:Unfortunately the Browning Big Horn 8-Person Tent failed right out of the box and continued to disappoint. One of the upright steel poles was manufactured incorrectly as it did not contain the steel end piece to keep the pole locked in place in the elbow joint. This causes that end of the wall to collapse in the wind. I have included a picture of the tent poles showing the ones with the steel end pieces and the one with the missing part.Setup is not too bad. You can see Reed Lukens set it up by himself in the video here below however he also received a tent that was not manufactured incorrectly as the floor was not sealed which furthers my concern about the quality of the workmanship:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HeVukH6QdkThis design is not really what is best for families. The bathtub floor is twelve inches to the door which means that children and dogs will need to step over 1 foot in order to get inside the door. This is too tall for little legs to constantly step over and caused a constant problem for our smaller campers. The flooring is not thick or tarp like which makes the matter worse as it is vulnerable material. The bathtub floor did not last 48 hours with little legs. We typically keep a tarp under our tents and I would double up on that tarp if you are considering purchasing this tent. I would not purchase this tent if you have dogs or smaller campers.We would have preferred that the divider be removable or movable ourselves to create the size of rooms we would prefer instead of the tent being divided equally with the divider permanently affixed. Also once you tie back the divider you lose access to the storage pockets.The zipper design is very poor and will fail you if you are not very careful with them. Unfortunately with children this zipper did not last us 24 hours. I would not take this tent out with dogs or children without investing in a magnetic screen door attachment. The magnetic screen door would need to be greater than 4 feet wide and greater than 64 inches tall. Company Stands Behind Their Products (2nd UPDATE 6/25/14)

(UPDATED 5/2016) – I just recently used this tent again and still love the functionality and space this tent provides. We now have 2 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs with gear and still have room to stretch. What I really want to add to my review is that on our recent camping trip we were surprised to get pounded by thunderstorms for hours one night. The Big Horn held up to the wind and pouring rain. I did not detect any leakage at all and I didn’t even have the guy lines stakes down. Now that is amazing!!!(UPDATED 6/25/14) – Now I have upgraded from 2 stars back to 5 stars because Alps Mountaineering (makers of the Browning Big Horn) is a stand up company that offered to send me a replacement tent since the tent I purchased developed holes very quickly. I received my tent FedEx and am very pleased with Alps Mountaineering’s customer service. They really do stand behind their products, and in this day and age, a company like this seems hard to find. I do hope that the replacement tent will not have the same issue as my first, but for now, I’m just happy to get a second chance with a tent design that I really love. Thanks Alps Mountaineering!!——————————————-(UPDATED 5/17/14) – Downgraded from 5 star to 2 star – I just took this tent out for only the second time and noticed that there are already 2 little holes in the tent wall fabric. Really?!?! I took very good care of this tent (managed to keep a $100 Coleman tent for about 8 years). I take care of my stuff and thought I was doing a good job with this tent, so one could see my serious disappointment with this tent. I had such high praise for this tent after my first use, but it now has 2 holes and haven’t got the slightest clue as to what caused them. Sorely disappointed now.——————————————-(Original Review) – We just went camping on our maiden voyage with this new tent and had a great experience. The tent seems to be of very good quality all the way around. Poles are nice and sturdy, oxford floor is better than most at this price, and stitching is tight. It took me about 25 minutes to set up. The features that are important to me are: all windows can zip closed, it has vertical walls, the tent is big, it has two doors, rainfly buckles to anchor points, and the quality seems really good. Although we liked our previous Coleman Ridgeview tent we bought 8 years ago (finally gave out on us), this tent’s quality is superior. For what this tent is, it gets five stars.I just wish it had a few additional features like: more inside storage pockets, air vents located floor level, electric cord access, wish the rainfly wrapped further down the tent for even better rain protection, and an awning area would be really cool. I guess all these features would probably push the price up out of my price range though.The one nitpick I have is that to fully secure the rainfly to this tent, you have to hand tie six integrated rainfly straps to the pole frame. Not a very efficient process, but it is only six. It could have had velcro ties or something that would not require hand tying each one. This process is a little tedious, but it does not affect the quality of the tent.If you are in the market for a family tent, at $250, this tent is hard to beat.I posted my own image for this tent. Outstanding results over two years.

Ok, so first lets get the negatives out of the way as they are few; it should be obvious, but it is not an ultralight tent as it is massive, personally i’d say feels like thirty five to forty pounds all in the carry bag. The steel uprights can hold a lot of sideways weight, but not so much on top, two of mine broke during a rather heavy flash snow fall/sleet. No interconnect sections to run power lines should you wish to run a side generator and lead power in.Now for the positives; this thing went through two years of flash floods, heavy rainfall and even collapsing under extreme snow and sleet, yet never once got wet inside. The fiberglass poles that support the shape of the canopy withstood three hundred to four hundred pounds of snow and ice over about twenty hours and show no signs of degradation. The small gear pockets are actually more useful in their positions than you would expect. Held up against huge gusts with no visible shaking or flexing. While super tall, I am 5’6″ and set it up myself in about thirty five to forty five minutes, depending on how long since last time as I forget easily. When the uprights did break, I called the ALPS/Browning customer service at 1-800-344-2577 got connected to a nice representative in maybe less than a minute and had a new order of two poles placed and ready for ship in about ten minutes (this includes giving address card number etc.) which cost me about $24 usd and maybe $10 fast FEDEX shipping all the way out to middle of no where Iowa. I probably could have argued for free parts replacement, but the snowfall (while unexpected) does exceed the warranty of the three season tent and this was a few years after purchase anyway, but with how nice the representative was I bet I could have gotten it free if I tried. Overall, while not a perfect tent, this thing has held up the test of weather and time (excluding acts of nature flipping me the bird) and I have no regrets on the purchase at all.Side note: I would definitely say purchase the optional floor covering they offer as it really saves the floor of the tent since I don’t take off my boots when going in and out. Another thing from experience is due to the color scheme, I was happy with the purchase of some glow in the dark guy-lines for finding it in the dark.

Good overall tent for the money.

Nice and big and durable. I sprayed tent to protect against elements. We went through heavy rains and 30 plus mile an hour winds and it stood strong. It is important to stake down with heavy duty stakes and set up the rain fly properly and stake the guy lines properly. One thing I do not like is the divider. You can tie each side of the divider back to the inside walls of the tent but since the divider is sewn on top all the way across, you cannot push each side away from each other. It is annoying since we use the whole tent and have two oversized cots that are seven feet long and moving around the tent we find ourselves ducking to avoid the side of these dividers. Also, when we first got the tent and were setting it up in the back yard to spray sealant on it, the corner plastic connector popped right off. Since we needed the tent that weekend and didn’t have time to send it back and wait for another tent, we sewed it back up with fishing line and a heavy duty needle. After a couple uses it popped off again and we sewed it again. Oh well. Generally speaking we think the tent is great. Since the top is mostly all mesh, you have to use the rainfly if there is a chance of rain or cooler weather at night.

We thought we would try a bigger tent for car camping and we have not been disappointed. I’m gonna try and be brief but there ..

This is the second tent we have purchased that is manufactured by ALPS. We have the Chaos 3 for backpacking and it has proven itself time and again. We thought we would try a bigger tent for car camping and we have not been disappointed. I’m gonna try and be brief but there is a lot to say about this tent. I list the PROS first: Very roomy, well ventilated, sturdy in the wind if guyed out properly, lots of space for gear. The CONS (to be clear we consider all these items minor in comparison to how well this tent served our needs) : There is very little built in storage space, only six small pockets on either side of the room divider, it can be set up by one person but if you want to start your camping trip with everyone in a good mood its best if two set it up, we did have a pretty severe storm (sleet, rain, 40+mph winds) and the driving rain does come under the fly but most people would have packed it in long before that happened. I highly recommend the footprint or a tarp for under the tent to protect your floor. It is pretty sturdy material but having that extra layer under the floor will really extend the life of this tent. We did have one pole break as a result of the storm and I have a request in to ALPS customer service regarding replacement parts. I will post the results of that when I hear from them. All in all we are pleased with this tent and cant wait to camp in it again!

Best all around tent

I use this tent under the harshest conditions and use it mostly in the winter and it’s not even rated for winter. I’ve use this down into the teens with the heater on the inside the ventilated roof makes it easy to use a propane heater. The people leaving reviews saying this is not a sturdy and well made tent clearly don’t know how to take care of their things. This is a very strong tent I put mine through intense winds, heavy rain, below freezing temperatures, It can handle it all if you take care of properly it’ll last long time. I’ve taken extra steps to do further weatherproofing just to take it one step better. This is hands-down the best all-around tent I’ve ever owned and it’s incredibly easy to put up.

Holy buckets! This is the mother of all tents. By far and away the largest one we have ever bought, it was purchased for a long hunting trip with 4 adults using it as shelter. This thing is HUGE and incredibly easy to set up. Two people had it up, on the first time mind you, in less than 10 minutes. Next time, I expect it will take the two of us about 5 minutes because we have already done it once. Strong, stout poles give the structure stability and the zippered wall inside was perfect to give each couple a little privacy. You could live in this thing, without question, at least April-September. The ventilation was superior to other tents, the thickness of the walls and flooring was better than the typical tent, too. I love how the rain fly goes over and ties down, too. Someone really thought this one out before it went to production and it shows.We watched some video reviews and read other reviews before we bought it. It is an investment for us to use on hunting trips and long camping trips (with or without friends) because of the room to spread out. To give an idea of space: We use a queen size, double tall air mattress. We had our packs, duffle bags, and a medium sized suitcase all inside at the end of the bed and still had room to stand up, walk around, and stretch–and that was on our HALF of the tent. Our friends were on the other half and even spread out, also had room to spare. It is spendy but if you will use it for a couple weeks (or more) each year, it is WORTH IT!

Buy This Tent – You Won’t Regret It

This tent has been superior to others that I have owned. First trip out we encountered a horrible storm in West Texas at a State Park. Every other individual that was camping loaded up their tent and left that night since we were all sitting in about 3-5inches of water. This tent performed like a champ. The wind was fierce and blew very hard, but we remained safely inside. I will say that I treated the tent with typical water treatment purchased at Walmart before we headed out on the first trip. We have camped four times now in varying types of weather and have been pleased with the results all the way around. Two of the times we used a heater inside the tent with very nice results. We have slept with four individuals in the tent with two XL cots and two regular sized cots set up around the perimeter and had plenty of space. The room divider comes in very handy for changing while others are still inside the tent. The two seperate doors makes entry so easy. I have had no issue getting the entire tent, poles, stakes and raincover rolled back up and into the tent. My only wish would be that the tent would have one continuous zipper around the doors rather than one that ran horizontal and one that ran vertical. Other than that one “wish”, I am beyond thrilled with the height, the room, the performance and quality of this tent.

Perfect large family tent!

We are a family of six, dad, mom, two teens (16&19), and two kids (7&9). We’ve only camped with mom and dad and the kids but the teens could easily camp with us with plenty of space in this tent.It’s easy to set up, mom and kids can set this tent up in less than 20 minutes, and pack it up in about ten.It has done great in rain with no issues of leaking.We really like the space it provides for playing for the kids when the weather is yucky and you have to wait it out inside. (Which was one of our draws for purchasing a bigger tent).Our sleeping arrangements have included one set of disco bunks on one narrow wall and another set on the other and a chair next to one of the beds. Plenty off room for gear under the bunks or around the walls. We have also set it up with one cot on one narrow wall and one cot in the middle of the opposite “room” with a sleeping pad and bag on either side. And a chair next to the lone cot.We have enjoyed the tent and plan to continue. The quality we have seen in it has been great.The only downside is, it is heavy, but we knew that when we purchased it.

Excellent tent

My oldest son started in cub scouts last year and my youngest starts this year, therefore we have gotten into tent camping. I have not tent camped since my 20’s and only had a small 4 man tent. My wife wants to join in this year but has had back surgery and requires a good air mattress to camp. Therefore we were looking for a big big tent that could fit two queen size air mattresses. This tent does that and a whole lot more. It is cavernous big in every way. I am over 6 feet tall and have lots of head room. The evening we received the tent the boys were very excited so I started setting it up immediately. I was able to have the tent up and together in 30 minutes working with a 6 and 8 year old. With another adult could half that time. We slept in it that night in 80 degree weather and with all the vents and top were able to use a small fan and stay very cool. I really like this tent and settled o it after reading a lot of reviews here and on other websites. It truly is the best quality in this price range. Sure it can’t compare to a nice thick $1k canvas tent but it will sure get the job done for scouts and occasional fishing trips. It is packaged very nicely and easily fits back into the bag if rolled neatly. The poles are super sturdy and should hold up nice. The zippers are heavier than most other big brand tents. Some reviewers mention the floor is thin. It does appear that way but the material seems to be very resiliant and stretchy. Besides any one serious about caring for a tent will have a ground trap footprint down. I may also get a roll of cheap industrial type carpet and put down inside. The only other upgrade i might consider is heavier stakes, the ones that come with the tent are good and better than those found in competitor tents but this thing is big and I will want to secure it down a little deeper. Oh and the guy wires for the faintly have a super easy to use cam tension system that even my 7 year old figured out. All I all very pleased with this purchase and Amazon’s amazing price

BIG HORN! Great Family Style Tent

This is a review for the Browning Camping Big Horn Family/Hunting Tent. Excellent tent! I set it up in less than 20 minutes by myself and had no problems. I thought the instructions, which were clearly written inside the bag flap, were very well described. I am experienced with several types of tents so I know what to look for and am well versed with their construction. I believe most of the negative reviews are due to inexperience or are due to not being able to identify with the tent’s description and parts. NO tent is water”proof” straight from the factory; it must be treated properly to gain the most benefits.As soon as I set it up, I applied seam sealer to all points and treated the fly as well. I left the tent up to dry and two days later we had a very strong thunderstorm come through which dumped 2 inches of rain. I went out to check and: NOT A DROP OF WATER anywhere inside the tent. 3 days later, ANOTHER storm came through and, again, NO LEAKS! There is the possibility that with heavy winds, some rain may blow up between the fly and the screened portion of the top of the tent but with our storms, even with the wind, I had no such problem.My ONLY 2 complaints are: I believe that there should be two additional stake loops on either side by the doors and possibly one on each end. But I don’t really foresee a problem with the way it is. Another complaint is that the door zippers could stand to be a little more beefier although, again, they may hold up very well.If you are looking for a large, family style tent for occasional use, I highly recommend this tent. I would not consider it for extreme use such as an expedition or outfitter’s tent as it just doesn’t have the ruggedness needed for such applications. I also would be careful with small children who might “yank” on the zippers without thought to the lightweight construction. I am rating this 4 stars because I believe for the casual family camper, this is the right choice. For heavy duty use; not so much. The tent is very roomy and has a tough floor. Fly buckles are easily adjustable and hold in place very well.

Impressed so far

We purchased this for our daughter and grandkids for Christmas. Having many tents myself including my first tent as a Hillary canvas tent, I like what I have seen with the tent. The tent is 10X15 and we put it up on the back patio. I like the fact the vertical support poles are steel or aluminum and heavy duty. The stretch cord on one set is broke so the poles do not stay together when dismantled but I plan on calling them in the near future to see if they will send us a new pole set. The corners are plastic but pretty beefy but I told my daughter to order a couple of them as they could crack and cause a camping trip to go south. I went overboard and sprayed sealer on the entire outside of tent and also did the rainfly. I was impressed that on the main seams they already had sealer tape on the inside. Again went overboard and sealed all seams inside. I like the little extras like flaps over the zippers inside and out depending on whether the flaps are for windows or doors. The only thing that I think someone else mentioned that I would add is I wish the door zippers were bigger and better. Seems to be the norm anymore in cutting cost using number 8 instead of something better. Well, we will see how it does in this years outings. If it holds up and performs as I hope, my wife and I will invest in the same tent but maybe a size smaller. I would give it 5 stars but let’s see how it holds up in a camping trip. Oh, two more things. Putting it up did take some effort due to the tension in the poles so we will see how future setups work and second set up the tent then put the stakes in as this will help on tension with the zippers.

Holds up nice in a storm, missing a few features

The first night in this tent, we had the worst rain storm ever, and it lasted for hours and hours. I stayed perfectly dry. The only issue with the water is the two zippers by the doors do not seal. It leaves a gap and this is an issue for water and spiders.Some missing features, while it is a big & roomy tent, there is only one place to hang anything, and it’s right in the middle. I tried putting a fan/light there for camping and it fell. The straps or whatever just detached with no pressure. There is no other hooks or anything. Also the center dividing door only had a strap on one side to pull it back, the other we had to prop a suitcase up.The last thing was the string in one of the tent poles was broken when we opened it up. We were still able to use the poles but disappointing. I purchased two of these, one had a broken string inside the tent poles, the other was missing a tent pole, but we made due. I am returning one and my friend decided to keep his because our tents are the only ones that stayed dry through that brutal storm in our group.

If you are looking for a tent this size and you don’t buy this one, your a fool

So I bought this tent to replace an REI Kingdom 6. Needed more space. Reviews were good. This weekend we took it to Lake Shasta. Set up of the tent took two people around 15 minutes and we talked and moved slow and unloaded things not just worked on the tent. That evening it had rain showers. No issues with the tent. Friday the following day it rained the entire day, and for about 6 hours it was vertical hard rain, and made the place a muddy pool. There were no leaks, not one drop of water in the tent. I didn’t even get condensation inside the tent. This was half the cost of an REI tent, and so far 150% better. Plus it comes with a lifetime warranty from a reputable company. I am 6’4″ tall and having a 7’2″ center makes this thing fantastic. I can have all our gear for 4 of us, along with two kids sleeping areas, and our queen mattress, and still have room. We even had two additional friends of our kids sleep one night and had plenty of room left over. The divider was nice, had pockets for gear. the center had a hook for a lantern. I have been camping for years and this by far has exceeded my expectations. Could use a few additional comforts, but not necessary, and is by far better than anything I have ever owned

Amazing tent for the cost!

It was very easy to set up alone. At first I had my reservations about how well it would hold up to high winds or lots of rain but we had no problem.The first time we brought it out was actually in the Adirondaks in NY when the hurricane hit the Gulf coast this year (2020) and it poured for an entire day and we basically had rain on and off for the 4 days we were there. I was pleased that we had no leaking inside the tent and no problems with the wind. Water came down on the top of the tent and because there was so much flowed under the tent with no tarp and we did not have any problems.I would highly recommend this tent for any camping during normal temperatures. I can say it got a little cold because of how much screening was on the top but that is to be expected.

Great value. Easy setup.

This is a really nice size tent. I did lots of research on water resistance before purchasing and found this one to have better ratings than core and Coleman tents.We got stuck in a pretty nasty storm and stayed completely dry.It’s a bit heavy but can be easily moved by one person. Perfect for car camping with the family.Setup took about 15 minutes.

Large, attractive and well designed tent

Great tent with plenty of room. Took it camping for the first time before ever putting it up but found it fairly easy to set up by following the instructions. I think it may be more difficult with just one person. The floor seemed thin but it’s sturdy and I put a tarp underneath to keep it dry and prevent rocks or sticks from penetrating it. It didn’t rain so I can’t tell if it will leak but I made this purchase after reading many reviews who claimed that the company was very supportive about any issues with their tents. It comes with tie down lines in case of winds as this is a cabin style tent and would be affected by high winds. The top is mostly an open mesh style and I was worried about being cold at night but didn’t find that to be a fact at all. It kept most of its warmth from the days sun and was a comfortable temperature, as I left the rain fly on. There are two large rooms and a door with each one with a center divider that can be zipped open if desired. The only addition that I would like to have been added would be a place to hang a light.

Spacious tent from a quality company

UPDATE: I contacted browning about the holes in the tent (3 years later mind you as I didn’t know about their Lifetime Guarantee) and they sent me a brand new tent at no charge!! No returns, no extra hassle. They apologized for the unsatisfactory quality and sent a new one over to me as soon as it became available. Stand up company!Great size tent! Can fit a queen size air mattress, a large dog crate, and two single size air mattresses…. with plenty of walking space and space for your bags.Unfortunately the zippers for both doors and windows gave us a hard time. This was from our second use out at the cost. The winds were not aggressive at all, it was perfect beach weather on the northern coast.Hoping to come into contact with customer service about getting a replacement due to it’s faulty zippers.

Good tent

The tent seems to be of decent quality. We might have to add a drainage hole near the window flaps so water doesn’t accumulate. After finding faulty stitching on the rain flap, we contacted the manufacturer. They sent a new flap right away, free of charge.

We just set it up in the backyard to see how it works. Set up is easy. 2 people took maybe 10-15 minutes to set up. It will be faster now that we know what to do. The rain fly has a pole that goes along the edge so that the front and back stay up and away from the tent which is nice. I imagine a hard or windy rainstorm would probably still get in. It’s plenty tall even a very tall person could stand up in here no problem. I’m 5’6” and can barely reach the lantern clip at the center top. Because the rain fly sits up and away from the mesh roof I think it will be well ventilated but if it gets very cold you’re maybe not wanting all that air coming in. It’s a lightweight tent so I wouldn’t want this if I camped in harsh conditions anyway. We’re only going to California central coast so it should be fine. Pleased so far. Can’t give more than 3 stars until we actually use it in 2 weeks time. We’re going to put waterproofing on the seams ahead of time as other reviewers have mentioned.

I just got the tent and set it up in my living room. Super easy, intuitive setup and really easy take down. Tall – let me say that again – – tall – NO crouching. 8X10 interior – great for Queen air matress. I have 4 tents – none of the others are easier even though two are instant cabin types – they are too short – crouch city. Pack it away – – a breeze – just take care to fold it where it does not trap air and it fits back in the bag great.Got this for Jeep camping – I am really looking forward to trying it in the real world. Appears to be quality in all respects.

Great Tent with Excellent Customer Service

This has to be the best tent we have used ! This tent is 10 x 15 with a very high ceiling height, we wanted a tent we could stand up completely inside and this one fits that bill. The top corners of the tent are reinforced, it comes with heavy duty poles and the bath tub floor comes up higher than other tents we have had in the past. We noticed small holes in one top corner of the tent, emailed customer service, and got a reply back within 15 minutes with Fed Ex tracking information, they sent us a new tent skin to replace the one with the holes and it arrived in just a couple days. The customer service for this tent is top notch. I liked it having the option to use the room divider or tie it back. We had no problem setting this tent up, took us about 15 minutes.

Super good quality tent.

Happy with every aspect of this tent especially for the size. Usually a tent this large is extremely heavy and difficult to put up. Not this one. Everything from the zippers to the seams are really well constructed. I would recommend this tent to anyone who likes extra space and the ability to stowe gear. You can fit 8 people in this no problem, but we use it for a family of three because we like being able to change and move around in the tent while having our gear protected at the same time from rain, bugs and the sun. This thing is massive and people we’ve camped with were impressed by the size and the price. Highly recommend.

Roomy, easy to set up and take down.

Only used this tent one time so far, but it appears to be exactly what I wanted.My husband and I are occasional, weekend campers and not as spry as we used to be. So we wanted a tent that we could stand up in. It also needed to fit one of those tall queen sized air mattresses with space walk around it and be able to get in and out of bed without risk of lurching into the side of the tent in the middle of the night. This tent fits the bill perfectly. We put the air mattress in the end AWAY from the door we plan to use and have plenty of space to store stuff and move around easily.At first, I was a bit concerned about the room divider. You can’t tie it completely out of the way if you want to use the tent as one large space. It ended up not really being a problem for us though. I do think you could probably get it cinched a bit closer to the walls using some sort of clips above the tie-backs (e.g. clothespins).The tent is easy for the two of us to set up and take down. The first time we did it, we had a little confusion about the orientation of the rain fly, but just rotated it until it lined up with the doors. Now we know to look for the channel for the rods that go in the rainfly over each door.The tent stakes are the same flimsy type we had with our previous Coleman tent. If you camp on hard or rocky ground, you might want to get some sturdier ones that don’t bend so easily.We normally only camp on grass, so have not had any concerns about damaging the tent’s floor material. We use a fairly lightweight tarp underneath. If you are in rougher terrain, I would think you’d want a thicker tarp or footprint product just to be safe.

Great Glamping Tent!

I don’t know how they did it but when this thing is erected and decorated, I’m not kidding, it looks like the inside of an apartment. I use it for my glamping business and when people unzip the door, they get this big smile, look at me and then disappear inside. I’ve used 10′ x 14′ tents a lot but the one extra foot on this one (10′ x 15′) makes more than a little difference. I’d gotten used to the 10 x 14’s with doors on the ends and wasn’t sure I’d like the door situated on the the sides. It’s changed the way I look at tents. I thought I’d lose floor space plus I had my decorating scheme downpat with doors on the ends – now I’m eyeballing tents with the offset door on the side because of this tent. The only thing I’d improve is a way to hold back the unzipped curtain at the current level AND a higher level. You have to kinda duck toward the middle to avoid the curtain. In my other tents, the dividing curtain fastens to the roof of the tent which means rolling yards of silky material into a long roll – kinda like trying to turn a double bed sized flat sheet into a long sausage. The Browning curtains more elegantly split in the middle and like drapery, gather and tuck on the sides. I just would like a tuck about head level and hip level just to get it out of the way.The tents held up to months of being in the outdoors. It’s protected by trees on all sides so no issue about the sun fading the color. It’s undergone flash flooding and winds up to 40 mph without so much as a drop inside. The floor is of thicker material than other tents I’ve owned. Apparently it’s not mildew resistant but I’m not sure it’s advertised as such. I treated it with mildew root killer treatment and it’s back to its pretty yellow, creme and brown colors. (Photo by Kelly Stewart)

Spacious and very comfortable tent

My boys and I had the tent out this past weekend. The weather was expected to be clear with very little chance of rain so I almost didn’t even put up the rain fly for the tent. Needless to say I’m glad I put the rain fly up. Let me just say setting up the tent is a breeze. It does take two people but really only takes about 15-20 minutes. I do suggest setting it up before your first outing just to get comfortable with your new tent.About two hours after setting up the tent the rain came pouring down on our camp out as we were serving dinner. We tried to avoid going back to the tent to eat but the rain was coming down in buckets. We retreated to the tent and set up all of our chairs inside as we sat to eat and visit. We had more than enough room even with 4 sleeping bags set up on one side of the tent. The rain ended up stopping for a while just before going to bed but later started in the evening for most of the night. The best part about this tent is we stayed dry for the entire night.The night was fairly humid but there are more than enough vents on the tent for adequate airflow. The next morning it was pretty soggy outside but the tent kept us all dry from the elements. We had many other campers in the area and lots of them were wanting to know where I got this tent. Many of which spent much more in price for other tents that were not of the quality as this Browning Big Horn Tent.I did plenty of research all over the internet before buying this one. Overall I’d give this tent 10 stars if I could so if your looking for a new tent I highly recommend you give this one a closer look.

lots of room, good quality, very happy

this tent is great. it did take a couple of practice set-ups because we haven’t done much camping and its a very big tent, but once we read the directions and got a feel for it, its nice and sturdy and takes about 15 minutes to set up with two people. we bought this tent despite no reviews because we wanted a screen roof and rain fly, we liked that they specifically listed what materials were used, and the company seems reputable from what we could find out. we considered a coleman instant tent, but if you break a pole on those, you can’t replace it, and we wanted the screen roof/fly option.This tent is quite roomy – queen mattress, chair and lots of gear one one side, twin mattress and pack-n-play and more gear on other side, with plenty of room to walk and play, and nothing touching the straight sides. its really, really tall (i am 5’8″ and couldn’t touch the top) so its easy to dress, stretch, or walk around with gear or a fussy toddler.we were in 85/55 degree weather, so can’t really speak to weatherproofing. all the windows made for good cross-ventilation, and there are supports for the rain fly over the doors so it lifts off the top of the tent in those two spots by about 5 inches and an inch or two everywhere else for great air flow (and i was thinking we could remove those two supports if it got cold and we wanted to keep more air in). We really liked it, and it seems like very good quality that will hold up to more vigorous camping with the kids.note: the guy lines are only attached to the rain fly (which secures nicely to the tent), so if you want to be without a the fly but expect some strong wind (not an experienced camper, so not sure if that would happen), you might want to get another set of guy lines to attach directly to the tent. and as usual, the tent stakes are the cheaper wire ones.

Not quite the waterproof tent we were expecting.

I purchased this tent originally in September 2015. We had a particularly bad camping trip with our old tent where torrential downpours plagued us, inside and out. When shopping for a new tent, I chose this one based on reviews that said it was nearly impervious to rain. We camped in it once for 3 days in October 2015 (no rain!) and were generally pleased with how large and roomy it was for a family of four plus a dog. Fast forward five years, we took this tent out for a camping trip this last weekend—to note, this is only the second camping trip this tent has been on—and ended up with another rainy weekend. There was flooding in our camp site once again; the bottom of the tent literally looked like a waterbed with how much water was passing under it! While the bottom remained dry, I can’t speak the same for the top of the floor basin or for the doors and windows. We had quite a bit of water coming in both doors through the zipper, plus through one of the windows and through the top seam of the basin. While I’ve seen worse happen in a tent, I was pretty bummed that this happened in a tent I was pretty positive would be completely waterproof, especially with no visible holes and only it’s second time in use. I would expect that to happen after five years if we had consistently been using the tent and not maintaining it, but for this to happen after only two uses? All of our camping gear is stored inside our house year-round, so it didn’t go through any inclement weather when it was packed up or extreme temperature changes. I hate to say it, but if you really want something waterproof, I’d look elsewhere. Or be prepared to re-waterproof the tent before you take it out in the first place. Aside from that, the tent was perfect for our needs—plenty of room for a queen air bed, two twin air beds, a dog bed and still room to spare to walk around without anyone being hunched over. The basin is a little high off the ground, so it will be harder for those with little legs to go in and out of the doors without tripping. This is also not a lightweight tent.
