100% satisfied!!!
We purchased this tent after researching big tents that can handle strong winds. The browning big horn 2 room tent did not disappoint!!!! We wanted to upgrade out of our dome tent as we would be camping / deer hunting for 10 nights. We were tired of crawling around our dome tent. The Big Horn is exactly what we needed! We set it up for the first time ever right after finding our camp spot. Took my husband and I about 20 mins but will be much faster the next time. The Southern Arizona winds gushed heavy and hard for 2 days during our trip. The tent stood sturdy even when some other tents in our camping party were falling down and blowing around. We did purchase and use heavier duty tent stakes. We had a steady rain overnight and the tent remained totally dry. There was water accumulated on top of the tarp we set the tent on but no water seeped through the tent floor. The tent is nice and roomy! It’s large but set up was no more difficult than any of our other smaller tents. We had a queen size cot, several camp tote boxes, a portable toilet, 2 chairs, and 5 gear/clothing totes. Still plenty of room to walk around. The cot and toilet were new to us this year and made our ten day camping trip soooo much better! We backpack camp too and are used to less comfortable camping situations but for several day camping trip with a vehicle….. this is the only way I want to go for now on! We are so happy with the quality and the size of this tent! It’s so worth the investment. I read some reviews of water leaking during rains but ours was dry. Taking the tent down was easy peasy (it was so nice to even pack up the contents inside because I could walk around instead of crawling!). The tent and all parts fit easily back into the storage bag. In fact, the storage bag even had enough room that we were able to store in it the tarp we used under the tent. The Browning Big Horn 2 room tent (along with the Coleman queen size cot / mattress and the portable flushable toilet) made our 10 day camping / hunting trip soooo much more comfortable! I believe this is the first review I’ve ever written on Amazon but we are so happy with the product I just had 5 star review! PS: We were blessed to have seen the SpaceX rocket launch, one night while camping, as viewed in the photo of it over our tent!

Good tent, especially for people with dogs/kids
It’s not a ultralight that’s for damn sure but it’s a great family tent or a hunter whose setting up base camp not to far from their vehicle. The two rooms with the divider in the middle aided well when I was hunting with a friend of mine— 0 broke back mountain vibes. Plenty of space for a full family or a couple dogs.I would suggest putting a tarp down under the tent. It’s pretty thin and moisture/condensation definitely seeps up. It’s weatherproof. Seems to be constructed well.

Great family tent! Very excited for the summer!
(UPDATED: 12/30/2016) -Amazing tent, still 5-stars!! I just wanted to update, since we have used the Browning Big Horn Family Tent for three camping seasons (2014, 2015 & 2016) so far. This tent has been amazing! We have camped in conditions with cold/hot temperatures, high winds, severe rain and hail. Yes, HAIL. The tent has held up beautifully, through all of our camping adventures, and I would still highly recommend this tent. In regards to the flooring, it did leak a little during our trip to Steamboat Springs. Considering it rained every single morning and afternoon/evening, it didn’t actually leak until the day it hailed for 40 minutes straight. It wasn’t light hail, it was torrential. I noticed it was coming through one of the doors, that was facing the direction of the hail. Not a problem though, the rest of tent did great. I called ALPS/Browning when we got back and the customer service was amazing, they said it shouldn’t have leaked, and sent a replacement tent body the next day!! This was the second time, I had to call about a replacement part, the first was about a tension rod that had broken and they sent a replacement for that next day as well. Besides the tent, the customer service and warranty service agents are fantastic! An excellent tent, backed by a great company. Me and my family love this tent! We are so excited to start the 2017 camping season with the Big Horn Tent.(ORIGINAL REVIEW – MAY 2014)This past weekend, we were finally able to put the tent up for the first time, before going on a community campout this weekend in our HOA’s backcountry. First, we put down our footprint (heavy duty reversible tarp from Costco) and then pulled out the tent, poles, stakes and rainfly. The instructions were very clear and concise, and are sewn directly into the storage bag so you don’t need to worry about it getting lost. Once we had the tent folded out completely, and all of the poles extended it took my husband and I, about 15 minutes to complete the setup (and we’re novices). The tent when it is complete is 10 x 15 feet, and a center height of 7’ 3’’. My husband is 6’1’’ had PLENTY of headroom all around the tent and not just standing in the middle. He does have to bend down slightly when entering the tent, but he didn’t find that to be an issue. The tent and floor material seem to be high quality and very durable for a $300 tent. It will have to withstand me, my husband, our 5 year-old daughter and 2 Samoyeds ( 45 lbs. and 85 lbs.).The tent can be divided into two rooms, each room on one side of the zippered divider panel has 3 pockets for storage. Each room has its own separate entrance, which we absolutely love! There is one hook in the middle, that can be used for handing a lantern. There are 6 windows (4 on the walls and 1 on each door). One thing I would like to mention, is that there are no tie backs for the windows on the walls or the door. Not an issue for us, but something to note when purchasing. In one room, we set up 3 sleeping cots which are each 75″L x 25″W x 16″H, and they fit perfectly, taking into account about 5 inches of space in between the cots and wall.I have attached pictures of the interior, since there are absolutely NONE on the internet. So, we hope these pictures give you a good idea of the tent.We love this tent so far, and are VERY excited to take it out!

Still standing
We took this tent to the Outer Banks. You get an occasional storm that flattens most of the tents. The volunteers who had been there 3 months said the wind that night was the worst wind in 3 months. We may have been the only tenters still in our tent in the am.That said, the flap over the door and the back windows are perfect wind foils and the wind did lift the back of the tent, pulling out my 12 inch stakes, including the extra stays I had tied to the frame. Many have commented that the sides, and especially the back could benefit from another tent peg. We held the tent down with our feet and were ok till the storm stopped and I could restake the tent. When we took it down we found we also splintered a fiberglass rod and we have a tiny hole in the fly. But our trip was not ruined as it was for many. We were thankful. The lower comfort rating is, because if we put the LL Bean cots in the tent, we don’t have any room left to walk around. Just a foot each direction would do it. So back to sleeping on the mat on the floor.

Not the quality you would expect and not best for families with small children and/or dogs.
Browning Big Horn 8-Person TentWe purchased this tent for our whole family including two dogs to go camping in the Pacific NW. We typically experience different types of ground including gravel, dirt, sand, and concrete. We experience rain, and most often high winds. We selected the Browning tent due to our understanding of the quality of most Browning products. We wanted a tent that was large enough for our family and built with enough quality to withstand the elements we encounter while camping. We were very disappointed in the quality and workmanship of the tent we received. We spent the extra money looking to have something substantial from Browning and I do not believe that this tent lives up to the Browning name. I put thought and research into this review to hopefully help others decide if this is the right tent for them. I have also included possible work arounds that might help others that are considering this tent as well. The Good:The tent is good looking it is certainly aesthetically pleasing. There have been incorrect comments about the color online and I can tell you it is the brown and yellow as you would expect from Browning. You have plenty of floor space and height. My 6’4 husband was very pleased with the height inside of the tent as he did not have to hunch over. Our family cot system was able to fit inside including the beds for both of our shepherd dogs. There are 4 windows and screens on the two doors which allow for plenty of ventilation. The Bad:Unfortunately the Browning Big Horn 8-Person Tent failed right out of the box and continued to disappoint. One of the upright steel poles was manufactured incorrectly as it did not contain the steel end piece to keep the pole locked in place in the elbow joint. This causes that end of the wall to collapse in the wind. I have included a picture of the tent poles showing the ones with the steel end pieces and the one with the missing part.Setup is not too bad. You can see Reed Lukens set it up by himself in the video here below however he also received a tent that was not manufactured incorrectly as the floor was not sealed which furthers my concern about the quality of the workmanship:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HeVukH6QdkThis design is not really what is best for families. The bathtub floor is twelve inches to the door which means that children and dogs will need to step over 1 foot in order to get inside the door. This is too tall for little legs to constantly step over and caused a constant problem for our smaller campers. The flooring is not thick or tarp like which makes the matter worse as it is vulnerable material. The bathtub floor did not last 48 hours with little legs. We typically keep a tarp under our tents and I would double up on that tarp if you are considering purchasing this tent. I would not purchase this tent if you have dogs or smaller campers. We would have preferred that the divider be removable or movable ourselves to create the size of rooms we would prefer instead of the tent being divided equally with the divider permanently affixed. Also once you tie back the divider you lose access to the storage pockets. The zipper design is very poor and will fail you if you are not very careful with them. Unfortunately with children this zipper did not last us 24 hours. I would not take this tent out with dogs or children without investing in a magnetic screen door attachment. The magnetic screen door would need to be greater than 4 feet wide and greater than 64 inches tall. Something like the one sold on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Screen-IKSTAR-Curtain-Automatically/dp/B019ETUQ6U/ref=sr_1_29?ie=UTF8&qid=1530559297&sr=8-29&keywords=magnetic+screen+door This video review by Joseph Hart explains the zipper issue and unless all of your campers are tall enough to handle the complexity of this zipper the zipper will most certainly not last you.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Yx-vBOF03IFactory stakes of course have never been the best and I would recommend that you replace them with Coleman stakes like these: https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-10-In-Steel-Tent-Stakes/dp/B002HU086C/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1530559591&sr=8-6&keywords=coleman+stakesWe have camped in tents half of this price for many years and I was very disappointed with the design and quality of this tent. I will be contacting Amazon to see if I can obtain a refund as I expected better.Specs:Color: Dark brown bottom, greyish brown top with yellow accentsFloor Size: 15 feet x 10 feetHeight: Tent is 88 inches tall slopes to 66 inches.Room Divider: Irremovable divider in center of the tent. Can be tied back but not removedStorage: On the room divider consist of 3 pockets hold 8 1/2 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches tall. Pockets are on the side that is away from the door on both sides making a total of 6 storage pockets.Windows: Open to screens. Screens do not open. No tie backs you need to roll them in toward the screen. 4 ft wide by 2 feet tall (at their largest) half circle windows. One on each side and one on each end.Door: 2 doors are the same size and located diagonally from each other. Bathtub floor 12 inches to door must step overFlooring: Bathtub floor. 1 foot to door. Not thick. Not tarp like. Slightly thicker than the top. Floor material is dark brown and extends up to the bottom of the windows.Tent Walls: Material is thinner above the windows you can see fingers through it.Light Hooks: Two small hooks one on each side of the room divider. Must be tall to reach them.Awning: Awning extends out above both doors. Awning comes out 16 inches at its furthest point.Attic: No attic. Only storage is located on the room dividerRainfly: Included and buckle clicks into the base of the upright poles with additional tie outs.Poles: Fiberglass with steel uprights.Zippers: Standard zippers but with tie pulls.Power: Would need to run through the doors.Carry bag: Dark brown and yellow.Tent stakes: typical factory steel tent stakesSetup: Hub design. I can put up it by myself !
Just got the tent yesterday and haven’t used it yet. My primary concern when I was tent shopping was that I wanted a larger tent for comfort but still needed one that I could set up alone. Although, it no doubt takes longer to set up alone, I could do it without any problem. I found the fly to be complicated because the instructions are poot, but I was finally able to figure it out. Don’t let the size scare you if you camp alone.

Company Stands Behind Their Products (2nd UPDATE 6/25/14)
(UPDATED 5/2016) – I just recently used this tent again and still love the functionality and space this tent provides. We now have 2 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs with gear and still have room to stretch. What I really want to add to my review is that on our recent camping trip we were surprised to get pounded by thunderstorms for hours one night. The Big Horn held up to the wind and pouring rain. I did not detect any leakage at all and I didn’t even have the guy lines stakes down. Now that is amazing!!!(UPDATED 6/25/14) – Now I have upgraded from 2 stars back to 5 stars because Alps Mountaineering (makers of the Browning Big Horn) is a stand up company that offered to send me a replacement tent since the tent I purchased developed holes very quickly. I received my tent FedEx and am very pleased with Alps Mountaineering’s customer service. They really do stand behind their products, and in this day and age, a company like this seems hard to find. I do hope that the replacement tent will not have the same issue as my first, but for now, I’m just happy to get a second chance with a tent design that I really love. Thanks Alps Mountaineering!!——————————————-(UPDATED 5/17/14) – Downgraded from 5 star to 2 star – I just took this tent out for only the second time and noticed that there are already 2 little holes in the tent wall fabric. Really?!?! I took very good care of this tent (managed to keep a $100 Coleman tent for about 8 years). I take care of my stuff and thought I was doing a good job with this tent, so one could see my serious disappointment with this tent. I had such high praise for this tent after my first use, but it now has 2 holes and haven’t got the slightest clue as to what caused them. Sorely disappointed now.——————————————-(Original Review) – We just went camping on our maiden voyage with this new tent and had a great experience. The tent seems to be of very good quality all the way around. Poles are nice and sturdy, oxford floor is better than most at this price, and stitching is tight. It took me about 25 minutes to set up. The features that are important to me are: all windows can zip closed, it has vertical walls, the tent is big, it has two doors, rainfly buckles to anchor points, and the quality seems really good. Although we liked our previous Coleman Ridgeview tent we bought 8 years ago (finally gave out on us), this tent’s quality is superior. For what this tent is, it gets five stars.I just wish it had a few additional features like: more inside storage pockets, air vents located floor level, electric cord access, wish the rainfly wrapped further down the tent for even better rain protection, and an awning area would be really cool. I guess all these features would probably push the price up out of my price range though. The one nitpick I have is that to fully secure the rainfly to this tent, you have to hand tie six integrated rainfly straps to the pole frame. Not a very efficient process, but it is only six. It could have had velcro ties or something that would not require hand tying each one. This process is a little tedious, but it does not affect the quality of the tent.If you are in the market for a family tent, at $250, this tent is hard to beat.I posted my own image for this tent. Enjoy.

Definitely a BIG and well made tent!
After several years with a 4 person dome tent, I got tired of sleeping on the ground (on a sleeping pad) and getting dressed while on my knees. I wanted a tent that would have room for 4-5 cots and could stand up in to get a good morning stretch. The Big Horn definitely fits the bill. It is every inch of 10ft x 15ft and about 7 feet at the peak! The only time I needed to duck was when stepping in and out of the tent. After use on two three day camping trips, this tent will last many years.Set up is easy for a such a large tent. The roof is supported by fiberglass poles and the sides are supported by aluminum poles. One person can set up this tent in +/- 15 minutes. Breakdown is the reverse of set up and takes about as long. Has a mesh roof and plenty of windows, so no worries about airflow. Tub style oxford nylon taped seams on the floor, no concerns about leaks or creepy crawlies. Room divider to make two separate spaces with their own entry. When zipped, the room divider has pistorage pockets. When open, there are small storage pocket under the windows. Near vertical walls allow placing cots close to the sides to maximize floor space. When set up, I found no issues with the fabric being pulled tighter in some spots than others that made you feel like your going to stress or tear it when using the zippers to open the doors and windows. The rainfly is what impressed me as I was afraid that it would sag when wet and touch the mesh ceiling; no such issue! The fly is separated from the tent roof by at least 3-4 inches and, when installed properly, is very taught. I especially like the fiberglass poles for the rainfly over the entry ways. One thing I noticed right away is that proper staking, proper guying, and properly installing the rainfly are a must! The best part though, everything fits bag into the carry bag with extra room for a tarp groundsheet!Three criticisms;1) Made in China by ALPS Mountaineering and licensed the Browning name brand. I bought it because of it’s size especially since I have 3 sons in Scouts and myself sleeping in this tent plus all our gear and equipment; plenty of room by the way. However ALPS Mountaineering makes a 10 x 14 tent with their own name on it that sells for about $150 less. After realizing that, I wondered if the extra square footage and Browning name tag were worth the extra cost. Don’t get me wrong, I have no regrets, I wanted and got a BIG tent!2) No toggles on the windows attached to the doors. The doors have windows and when unzipped, there are no toggles to roll up the window flap. Ironically, the doors themselves have toggles to hold the door open, and the other four windows have toggles to roll up the flap, but for some reason the windows on the doors do not have toggles to roll up the door windows flaps.3) #8 zippers everywhere which are the recommended size but would have like to see #10’s.This is a well made tent and I will get many years use out of it. If you want or need a tent with room enough for 4-5 adults sleeping on cots (or 6-8 on the floor in sleeping bags) and space for gear and equipment, the Big Horn is a great choice.

Outstanding results over two years.
Ok, so first lets get the negatives out of the way as they are few; it should be obvious, but it is not an ultralight tent as it is massive, personally i’d say feels like thirty five to forty pounds all in the carry bag. The steel uprights can hold a lot of sideways weight, but not so much on top, two of mine broke during a rather heavy flash snow fall/sleet. No interconnect sections to run power lines should you wish to run a side generator and lead power in.Now for the positives; this thing went through two years of flash floods, heavy rainfall and even collapsing under extreme snow and sleet, yet never once got wet inside. The fiberglass poles that support the shape of the canopy withstood three hundred to four hundred pounds of snow and ice over about twenty hours and show no signs of degradation. The small gear pockets are actually more useful in their positions than you would expect. Held up against huge gusts with no visible shaking or flexing. While super tall, I am 5’6″ and set it up myself in about thirty five to forty five minutes, depending on how long since last time as I forget easily. When the uprights did break, I called the ALPS/Browning customer service at 1-800-344-2577 got connected to a nice representative in maybe less than a minute and had a new order of two poles placed and ready for ship in about ten minutes (this includes giving address card number etc.) which cost me about $24 usd and maybe $10 fast FEDEX shipping all the way out to middle of no where Iowa. I probably could have argued for free parts replacement, but the snowfall (while unexpected) does exceed the warranty of the three season tent and this was a few years after purchase anyway, but with how nice the representative was I bet I could have gotten it free if I tried. Overall, while not a perfect tent, this thing has held up the test of weather and time (excluding acts of nature flipping me the bird) and I have no regrets on the purchase at all.Side note: I would definitely say purchase the optional floor covering they offer as it really saves the floor of the tent since I don’t take off my boots when going in and out. Another thing from experience is due to the color scheme, I was happy with the purchase of some glow in the dark guy-lines for finding it in the dark.

Great Tent. Outstanding customer service.
I purchased this tent in April 2016 and I am very happy with it. I put it up myself the first time in the backyard with some difficulty getting the last top pole in place (there are three fiberglass poles that go across the top). That last pole will have to be raised and curved (bent) upwards to get it in place. Doing this will raise all three off the ground. If you find that you have to stretch the fabric too far to get that last one in place STOP! You are going to have to finesse the top fabric channels that the pole goes through by pulling them toward you. Manhandling this last pole could damage the tent. Pull the fabric towards you and it will go together. Be alert to the black plastic things the poles fit into. They are two different sizes. The top poles are a smaller diameter and will fit in either end. If you put the top poles in the wrong holes you will not be a happy camper and you will have to take them apart and start over. The six steel poles that stand the tent upright are a larger diameter. So be careful with this step. It’s an easy mistake to make.I have used this tent three times this year and been through thunderstorms each time. Not a drop inside. Very reliable. Be sure to use a tarp underneath the tent. I have one of those blue ones from a box store and it works fine. Do not let it stick out from the tent because that will allow water to run underneath and possibly wick through the floor. A tarp will keep the floor perfectly dry. This tent is huge inside and you will not be disappointed. It has a room divider you can use (or not, just tie it back), a front and back door, and six windows. Plenty of pouches to store things and a hook in the center to hang a light. The rain fly is excellent. To get it over the tent, unless your first name is Kareem, tie it to a broom handle or whatever and pull it over the top. It’s 10×15 so make sure your campsite can accommodate this bad boy.Update: 15 Sept 17Used this tent now for two full seasons (at least 12 outings) and looking forward to a third season. Customer service is OUTSTANDING. The tent has never leaked and it’s been through some heavy storms and I have never used any seam sealer on the tent.Update 16 July 18. This is my third season for this tent and it has had some heavy use with NO problems with leaks. Somehow one of the poles that form the awning over the door broke. No problem. Sent an email to Customer Service (with a picture of the pole) and a new one was shipped out without delay. Customer Service is the best. One thing I learned over time was the best way to put the three top poles in. I put the two black ones in to make the “x”, THEN raise these two up to form a dome. The middle gray pole goes in last, underneath the black poles. Very easy for one person to do. Otherwise, to raise all three at once was a struggle.

Good overall tent for the money.
Nice and big and durable. I sprayed tent to protect against elements. We went through heavy rains and 30 plus mile an hour winds and it stood strong. It is important to stake down with heavy duty stakes and set up the rain fly properly and stake the guy lines properly. One thing I do not like is the divider. You can tie each side of the divider back to the inside walls of the tent but since the divider is sewn on top all the way across, you cannot push each side away from each other. It is annoying since we use the whole tent and have two oversized cots that are seven feet long and moving around the tent we find ourselves ducking to avoid the side of these dividers. Also, when we first got the tent and were setting it up in the back yard to spray sealant on it, the corner plastic connector popped right off. Since we needed the tent that weekend and didn’t have time to send it back and wait for another tent, we sewed it back up with fishing line and a heavy duty needle. After a couple uses it popped off again and we sewed it again. Oh well. Generally speaking we think the tent is great. Since the top is mostly all mesh, you have to use the rainfly if there is a chance of rain or cooler weather at night.

It’s a palace!
We took this tent camping about a month ago and all I can say is it’s a palace! One hour after we got it set up we were hit by a storm. It started with a light rain that sent us inside and shortly after the wind came up and it was a downpour! We stayed dry throughout except for two or three large gusts of wind that blew through and underneath the rain fly causing a very slight mist inside. That was it! No leaks and nothing came loose. That night it rained steadily for 4 hours and again, nothing inside! We did set it up once before hand and sprayed the seams of the tent and the rain fly with weatherproofing spray from Kiwi. It sets up easily with two people. I did not realize until we put it up the first time that is has two doors, one on each side, so that if you have the inside divider down each side has it’s own door. We have no problems with the zippers as long as you hold the flap away from it while zipping which is simple. The best thing about this tent is the straight walls so that you don’t have to duck anywhere inside, just to get through the door. We are tall people so this is important to us. We had a queen size inflatable, high rise air mattress and used our packing tubs for side tables, stored the luggage on the other side and brought in the chairs at night and we had tons of room. I highly recommend this tent for those who enjoy tent camping but want to do it with a lot of comfort!

We thought we would try a bigger tent for car camping and we have not been disappointed. I’m gonna try and be brief but there ..
This is the second tent we have purchased that is manufactured by ALPS. We have the Chaos 3 for backpacking and it has proven itself time and again. We thought we would try a bigger tent for car camping and we have not been disappointed. I’m gonna try and be brief but there is a lot to say about this tent. I list the PROS first: Very roomy, well ventilated, sturdy in the wind if guyed out properly, lots of space for gear. The CONS (to be clear we consider all these items minor in comparison to how well this tent served our needs) : There is very little built in storage space, only six small pockets on either side of the room divider, it can be set up by one person but if you want to start your camping trip with everyone in a good mood its best if two set it up, we did have a pretty severe storm (sleet, rain, 40+mph winds) and the driving rain does come under the fly but most people would have packed it in long before that happened. I highly recommend the footprint or a tarp for under the tent to protect your floor. It is pretty sturdy material but having that extra layer under the floor will really extend the life of this tent. We did have one pole break as a result of the storm and I have a request in to ALPS customer service regarding replacement parts. I will post the results of that when I hear from them. All in all we are pleased with this tent and cant wait to camp in it again!

Perfect for family camping!!
This tent is perfect for my family! The two rooms are perfectly sized. One room fits my son’s pack-n-play and all of his accessories. The other room fits a queen air mattress, cooler and luggage. There is a divider that you can zip closed to seperate the rooms or unzip and fold back the flaps to make the tent one huge room. We are a family of 3 and usually go camping with my sister’s family of 4. There is plenty of room for all of the kids to play in the tent. Set-up is mildly confusing the first time (especially if you are attempting to set this up solo while you have a toddler running wild lol) After the initial set-up, it’s pretty easy peezy. You CAN do the set-up alone, but I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND two people. I found this out the hard way when I got to the site early to surprise my husband and set camp before he arrived. The first night we camped, a cold front came in and the temp dropped down to 40° with heavy winds and gusts. Thankfully, I had put on the rain fly and secured the guy lines as a precaution. I don’t believe the tent would’ve stayed standing without the extra support. The tent did a decent job of keeping us warm, also. It was still cold, but between the tent’s protection and our winter sleeping bags, it didn’t bother us. I am 5’5″ and I cannot reach the top of the tent on my tip toes… Lots of height and space. I absolutely recommend this tent. We’ve already gone camping 3 times since we got this tent 5 weeks ago! We are extremely happy with our purchase so far.

Best all around tent
I use this tent under the harshest conditions and use it mostly in the winter and it’s not even rated for winter. I’ve use this down into the teens with the heater on the inside the ventilated roof makes it easy to use a propane heater. The people leaving reviews saying this is not a sturdy and well made tent clearly don’t know how to take care of their things. This is a very strong tent I put mine through intense winds, heavy rain, below freezing temperatures, It can handle it all if you take care of properly it’ll last long time. I’ve taken extra steps to do further weatherproofing just to take it one step better. This is hands-down the best all-around tent I’ve ever owned and it’s incredibly easy to put up.

Awesome Tent!!!
I received my Browning last week and now only free to set it up today. The tent was very easy to set up by myself, and it only took me 20 min. The rainfly was easy to put over the tent if the wind is not blowing too much. The material is very nice and strong, especially the floor. The floor is very thick comparing to other tents I’ve been in. After setting up the tent and inspecting it. I found a small hole on the ground. I called amazon asap and they will be sending me a new tent and will arrive in 2 days. So back to the tent, the wind started to pick up and I did not have the rainfly staked to the ground only the 4 corners of the tent. Im pretty amazed how the tent held up in the wind. If the rainfly were staked to the ground I’m pretty sure this tent will up hold up easily in strong wind condition. Im giving this a 5 star even though there was a hole because how durable the material is and how strong it stands up to the wind. I do not like having a collapsed tent while camping or sleeping at night. Also I have a sound asleep dream series 2 queen size air mattress and had it inside the tent filled up with air. I can easily fit two of these mattresses and still have extra room inside to move around and have my gear inside. All in all I’m very satisfied with this tent!!!! Happy camping everyone!

The reviews were spot on!
Holy buckets! This is the mother of all tents. By far and away the largest one we have ever bought, it was purchased for a long hunting trip with 4 adults using it as shelter. This thing is HUGE and incredibly easy to set up. Two people had it up, on the first time mind you, in less than 10 minutes. Next time, I expect it will take the two of us about 5 minutes because we have already done it once. Strong, stout poles give the structure stability and the zippered wall inside was perfect to give each couple a little privacy. You could live in this thing, without question, at least April-September. The ventilation was superior to other tents, the thickness of the walls and flooring was better than the typical tent, too. I love how the rain fly goes over and ties down, too. Someone really thought this one out before it went to production and it shows. We watched some video reviews and read other reviews before we bought it. It is an investment for us to use on hunting trips and long camping trips (with or without friends) because of the room to spread out. To give an idea of space: We use a queen size, double tall air mattress. We had our packs, duffle bags, and a medium sized suitcase all inside at the end of the bed and still had room to stand up, walk around, and stretch–and that was on our HALF of the tent. Our friends were on the other half and even spread out, also had room to spare. It is spendy but if you will use it for a couple weeks (or more) each year, it is WORTH IT!

Mixed review from me, a usable tent but with severe limitations.
OK so I read the reviews and some of them warned that the tent would leak, but most of them said that it wouldn’t. Well, my experience says that it will leak at every seam, and the water will seep into the bottom making everything damp. I bought this tent to take to the Caribbean after our house was destroyed by Hurricane Maria, We went after hurricane season during the “dry” season. The good news is that when properly tied down the tent will withstand a very high amount of wind. The bad news is that the tent leaked from every seam that wasn’t covered by the rain cover. It also has issues at the zippers. I had heeded the reviews and taken coleman seam sealer with me, just in case. I used the whole bottle. I initially used it just on the outside but ended up using it on the inside as well. This solved some of the issues, but there was no way to stop the bottom from seeping, so there were puddles near one of the doors and the area under the mattress was constantly damp. Two and a half weeks of damp, not very much fun and everything had to be dried out in the sun everyday so that was time consuming as well.In the end, if you are camping in the summer where there is no rain expected and you may have a lot of wind, this is a good tent. The tent has two rooms which was nice as we were able to duck inside during rains and use the front room as a sort of living room, while preserving our privacy. The other thing that I really liked was the two doors, one was our entrance for day and the other was our exit to the bathroom that only we used.So a mixed review from me, a usable tent but with severe limitations. I wish I had better news as I need to be able to use it again when I go back to rebuild.

Buy This Tent – You Won’t Regret It
This tent has been superior to others that I have owned. First trip out we encountered a horrible storm in West Texas at a State Park. Every other individual that was camping loaded up their tent and left that night since we were all sitting in about 3-5inches of water. This tent performed like a champ. The wind was fierce and blew very hard, but we remained safely inside. I will say that I treated the tent with typical water treatment purchased at Walmart before we headed out on the first trip. We have camped four times now in varying types of weather and have been pleased with the results all the way around. Two of the times we used a heater inside the tent with very nice results. We have slept with four individuals in the tent with two XL cots and two regular sized cots set up around the perimeter and had plenty of space. The room divider comes in very handy for changing while others are still inside the tent. The two seperate doors makes entry so easy. I have had no issue getting the entire tent, poles, stakes and raincover rolled back up and into the tent. My only wish would be that the tent would have one continuous zipper around the doors rather than one that ran horizontal and one that ran vertical. Other than that one “wish”, I am beyond thrilled with the height, the room, the performance and quality of this tent.

Glad we purchased this tent!
Great tent! Purchased it to provide extra sleeping room for large family gathering, and set it up on an outside deck. The tent comes with waterproofed seams, but to be extra safe I did seam-seal. It weathered several severe rain and wind storms, and stayed cozy and dry inside. I am a small, older woman, and I set it up by myself with only minimal help to raise the overhead supports. There is plenty of room inside- we placed a queen-sized air mattress and bedside stand, a twin mattress, a table and two stools, a chair and some other items inside, and there was lots of room to move around. Husband is 6’4″ and he had plenty of head room. Although there is no electrical port, the cord fit neatly at the junction of the door zippers. The carrying case has the instructions sewn right in, so no fear of losing them, and the tent did actually fit comfortably back into the bag. I purchased this tent after researching many other tents- the many positive comments and affordability convinced me that this tent would work for our needs. So glad we purchased it!UPDATE: 5/19. We used this tent for 5 full summer seasons in the Northeast- it stayed up everyday for three months each year. It had nary a leak. Hail, rain storms, wind- nothing bothered it. The rainfly finally gave up the ghost- so we replaced it with a tarp. Finally retired it this year since a brand new one was 1/2 price, and we hope to get another 5 years out of it. Well done, Browning!

Perfect large family tent!
We are a family of six, dad, mom, two teens (16&19), and two kids (7&9). We’ve only camped with mom and dad and the kids but the teens could easily camp with us with plenty of space in this tent. It’s easy to set up, mom and kids can set this tent up in less than 20 minutes, and pack it up in about ten.It has done great in rain with no issues of leaking. We really like the space it provides for playing for the kids when the weather is yucky and you have to wait it out inside. (Which was one of our draws for purchasing a bigger tent). Our sleeping arrangements have included one set of disco bunks on one narrow wall and another set on the other and a chair next to one of the beds. Plenty off room for gear under the bunks or around the walls. We have also set it up with one cot on one narrow wall and one cot in the middle of the opposite “room” with a sleeping pad and bag on either side. And a chair next to the lone cot.We have enjoyed the tent and plan to continue. The quality we have seen in it has been great. The only downside is, it is heavy, but we knew that when we purchased it.

Not a winter tent but a great tent for the other seasons
This is a great tent for car campng. It is not too big, despite the dimensions. We put a queen size air mattress in one half of it. And little tiny plastic tables on either side of the air mattress so we had “night tables.” That’s how big it is. And we put all of our other stuff in the other half. We put a tarp underneath it and shelled out for the “floor saver” that Browning also makes and sells. We slept in weather that was down into the 30’s and we had the aforementioned air mattress and lots of blankets and our clothes on, and we were pretty cold. So I can’t imagine that this is a tent for winter camping. If you get this tent, remember to READ the instructions, helpfully permanently attached to the carrying bag. First you lay it out on the ground. Next you put the three top shock-corded poles on the top and into the black plastic brackets that are sort of on the “roof” and sort of on the edges. These brackets are sort of elbow shaped and are big black plastic things. You want to make sure to put the poles in the non-threaded side. Then you stop. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS SLOWLY. (yeah, no, we did not practice at home, we waited til we got to the lake…..) Next, you need to place the six black steel rods in place and each of them ALSO gets pushed in to the other side of the black plastic bracket deals, into the threaded side. Once you do that, the three rods you already placed for the roof raise up in the air and you’re cooking with gas. As it were. When we put it up we put in the metal steel rods first, and that did not work. So I went back and carefully re-read THE INSTRUCTIONS. And I might have left something out. But we are very happy with this tent. We thought the zippers were great.AND IF IT HAD NOT BEEN COLD, we would have left off the fly – the “roof” is like four HUGE net windows. Which is why I think this is not a winter tent. But if it was not cold out, we could have lain in bed and looked up through the “roof” at the stars which is part of the reason to go camping in the first place, really.

Excellent tent
My oldest son started in cub scouts last year and my youngest starts this year, therefore we have gotten into tent camping. I have not tent camped since my 20’s and only had a small 4 man tent. My wife wants to join in this year but has had back surgery and requires a good air mattress to camp. Therefore we were looking for a big big tent that could fit two queen size air mattresses. This tent does that and a whole lot more. It is cavernous big in every way. I am over 6 feet tall and have lots of head room. The evening we received the tent the boys were very excited so I started setting it up immediately. I was able to have the tent up and together in 30 minutes working with a 6 and 8 year old. With another adult could half that time. We slept in it that night in 80 degree weather and with all the vents and top were able to use a small fan and stay very cool. I really like this tent and settled o it after reading a lot of reviews here and on other websites. It truly is the best quality in this price range. Sure it can’t compare to a nice thick $1k canvas tent but it will sure get the job done for scouts and occasional fishing trips. It is packaged very nicely and easily fits back into the bag if rolled neatly. The poles are super sturdy and should hold up nice. The zippers are heavier than most other big brand tents. Some reviewers mention the floor is thin. It does appear that way but the material seems to be very resiliant and stretchy. Besides any one serious about caring for a tent will have a ground trap footprint down. I may also get a roll of cheap industrial type carpet and put down inside. The only other upgrade i might consider is heavier stakes, the ones that come with the tent are good and better than those found in competitor tents but this thing is big and I will want to secure it down a little deeper. Oh and the guy wires for the faintly have a super easy to use cam tension system that even my 7 year old figured out. All I all very pleased with this purchase and Amazon’s amazing price

Amazing so far
First impressions, i love the tent. Shipping was fast, showed up 2 days before it said it would (so it got to my in 2 days instead of 4) since the poles are different sizes and colors, it made it easy to put together especially since i watched youtube reviews on it, i had a pretty good idea on how to put it up. My husband and i did it pretty fast.My husband’s first words about it “this things huge!” which is perfect for our growing family. It should fit our queen air bed, our toddlers sleeping pad, baby’s pac n play, and our 2 80lb dogs and all our stuff nicely!People seemed concered about about the zipper and getting the rain flap stuck in it, as i always have, i use my hand to guide it out of the way as i zip it. Which proves to work great with tent as well. The only issues i ran into while setting up was the separator in the tent, being a 7ft tall tent and me being 5ft2 … I had to jump a couple times to get the zipper. And also putting the rain fly on, again being 5ft2 and the tent so tall, it took me a couple times to toss the fly over the tent to attach it. But not the tents fault for the lack of my height.Have not used it yet, will this weekend.UPDATE. Just used it for a 2 night camping trip. Convinced my husband not to put a tarp over thw rain fly, i wanted to see if it would leak. Unfortunately there was no rain to test it! The tent was way more roomy then i thought. It made our queen air matress look tiny. You could fit 4 of them in there lol. But it was perfect for us with our huge dogs, toddler and baby crib. Fast set up. I ended up taking it down myself while husband held our sleeping baby. Which was easy.In the photots you can see the queen air matress, dog blankets, and our childs sleeping area on one side. And the crib on the other side.Only thing is, Husband snapped the rope part of the sticks that go in to hold the awning part. So i emailed the company to get a new one.UPDATE. Called to get a replacment pole for the awning. And they sent the wrong one. So have to call again and hopefully will get the new one before we go camping. Nkt a huge deal though since its just the awning

BIG HORN! Great Family Style Tent
This is a review for the Browning Camping Big Horn Family/Hunting Tent. Excellent tent! I set it up in less than 20 minutes by myself and had no problems. I thought the instructions, which were clearly written inside the bag flap, were very well described. I am experienced with several types of tents so I know what to look for and am well versed with their construction. I believe most of the negative reviews are due to inexperience or are due to not being able to identify with the tent’s description and parts. NO tent is water”proof” straight from the factory; it must be treated properly to gain the most benefits. As soon as I set it up, I applied seam sealer to all points and treated the fly as well. I left the tent up to dry and two days later we had a very strong thunderstorm come through which dumped 2 inches of rain. I went out to check and: NOT A DROP OF WATER anywhere inside the tent. 3 days later, ANOTHER storm came through and, again, NO LEAKS! There is the possibility that with heavy winds, some rain may blow up between the fly and the screened portion of the top of the tent but with our storms, even with the wind, I had no such problem. My ONLY 2 complaints are: I believe that there should be two additional stake loops on either side by the doors and possibly one on each end. But I don’t really foresee a problem with the way it is. Another complaint is that the door zippers could stand to be a little more beefier although, again, they may hold up very well.If you are looking for a large, family style tent for occasional use, I highly recommend this tent. I would not consider it for extreme use such as an expedition or outfitter’s tent as it just doesn’t have the ruggedness needed for such applications. I also would be careful with small children who might “yank” on the zippers without thought to the lightweight construction. I am rating this 4 stars because I believe for the casual family camper, this is the right choice. For heavy duty use; not so much. The tent is very roomy and has a tough floor. Fly buckles are easily adjustable and hold in place very well.

Browning does it again and again!
This is one of the best built tents I have ever owned. Easy to set up and take down! I shopped online relentlessly for a large family tent. There were some bigger tents available but this one had some solid reviews and pair that with the Browning name and we crossed our fingers and purchased. We were not dissapointed, the tent exceeded our expectations. It’s made by Alps however the Browning name has a standard so we were relying on that. By the way it happens to look really good also.UpdateWe have had this tent for I guess about 4 years now maybe longer. I have had it out a bit less than a dozen times overall. It is still a 5 star tent as a family car canoing tent. Mine has never been through a rain storm but I am confident it would do fine especially since I sealed the tent after I bought it. It has been through strong wind storms with 35 to 40 mph gusts. I typically cold weather camp and that is where I wish it was not so well ventilated but it was not designed as a 4 season tent. I put my propane heater in it and let it run all night long and I or whomever is with me stay quite warm. The advantage to the ventilation is I never end up running low on oxygen. The construction of the tent is still great, I love the zippers and those are usually first to fail. The tie down straps are sturdy and none have ever torn or come loose, although now that I’m saying that I feel a jinx coming on. I do with that it had a bigger awning but the tent is so roomy I just make myself a mud area right inside the tent and that has always worked great. You can find fancier tents and you can find easier to erect tents but this one just gets the job done.SincerelyStill Happy

Impressed so far
We purchased this for our daughter and grandkids for Christmas. Having many tents myself including my first tent as a Hillary canvas tent, I like what I have seen with the tent. The tent is 10X15 and we put it up on the back patio. I like the fact the vertical support poles are steel or aluminum and heavy duty. The stretch cord on one set is broke so the poles do not stay together when dismantled but I plan on calling them in the near future to see if they will send us a new pole set. The corners are plastic but pretty beefy but I told my daughter to order a couple of them as they could crack and cause a camping trip to go south. I went overboard and sprayed sealer on the entire outside of tent and also did the rainfly. I was impressed that on the main seams they already had sealer tape on the inside. Again went overboard and sealed all seams inside. I like the little extras like flaps over the zippers inside and out depending on whether the flaps are for windows or doors. The only thing that I think someone else mentioned that I would add is I wish the door zippers were bigger and better. Seems to be the norm anymore in cutting cost using number 8 instead of something better. Well, we will see how it does in this years outings. If it holds up and performs as I hope, my wife and I will invest in the same tent but maybe a size smaller. I would give it 5 stars but let’s see how it holds up in a camping trip. Oh, two more things. Putting it up did take some effort due to the tension in the poles so we will see how future setups work and second set up the tent then put the stakes in as this will help on tension with the zippers.

Best tent I’ve ever owned
We recently decided that a camper was not giving us the “camping” experience we used to love, and so sold it and purchased this tent after much research. I have owned over a dozen large tents recently, some as much as three times as expensive as this one. I’ve never before felt that I had the perfect tent, but with this one I do. The inside has plenty of space for a large queen sized cot and a smaller single cot, plenty of gear, a couple of chairs, and a dog. And it still didn’t feel crowded. When everything is zipped up, it feels nice and snug, even though the top is just screen, the placement of the rain fly keeps the wind out.The material is sturdy. We camp so much we’ve never been able to get more than two seasons out of a tent before they start falling apart, no matter how expensive they are. With this tent, it feels sturdy enough that I think we will have it for many years to come. This tent goes up faster and easier than the Coleman Instant tent that we had (what a piece of garbage that one was!). My wife and I were able to get this tent up the first time in less than 15 minutes, with a three year old running around “helping”. Take down was just as easy. And, to top it all off, everything fit back in the bag!The colors and Browning label also had people stopping to admire the tent. Though we haven’t had it in any significant rain storms, the few minor showers it’s been through have been just fine, with no additional seam sealing required. All in all, this is a fantastic family tent, you can’t go wrong with this one. Though with gear and all the comforts of home, I wouldn’t try to fit more than 4 adults or a family of 4 or 5. It has a few small gear pockets on the walls but I wouldn’t mind a few more. Still, great tent!UPDATE5 years of amazing trips, at least 25 state parks, until my wife put her foot through the wall pulling a stake. Absolutely amazing. Will be repurchasing!

Holds up nice in a storm, missing a few features
The first night in this tent, we had the worst rain storm ever, and it lasted for hours and hours. I stayed perfectly dry. The only issue with the water is the two zippers by the doors do not seal. It leaves a gap and this is an issue for water and spiders. Some missing features, while it is a big & roomy tent, there is only one place to hang anything, and it’s right in the middle. I tried putting a fan/light there for camping and it fell. The straps or whatever just detached with no pressure. There is no other hooks or anything. Also the center dividing door only had a strap on one side to pull it back, the other we had to prop a suitcase up.The last thing was the string in one of the tent poles was broken when we opened it up. We were still able to use the poles but disappointing. I purchased two of these, one had a broken string inside the tent poles, the other was missing a tent pole, but we made due. I am returning one and my friend decided to keep his because our tents are the only ones that stayed dry through that brutal storm in our group.

Good light weather tent, Great customer service.
Here to share just a few pointers and add a few things that I have not seen talked about before. Upon receiving I was able to set up the tent in a timely fashion alone. Figuring out the pole orientation was easy, poles color coated, and standard connections made it a breeze. Rain fly on the other hand was a little tricky to get over the top alone worked it out. Once I got it all set up I applied scotch guard to help prevent from the weather. The flooring seemed flimsy and that it might not last but I have not had an issue with it yet. First trip we had gotten a lot of rain and multiple times had 8 full size adults in our tent playing cards with not a single leak anywhere. My second trip did not go as well. The rain fly on the tent gets tied in the corner to the vertical poles. The rain fly then has strings externally at rain fly to pole connection. These ties get strung out and staked into the ground. These are the only thing besides the poles that hold the tent vertically. Even light wind along side the 14′ x 8′ walls give these strings a mighty work out. Needless to say my failed through the night causing the rest of my week hunting trip to result in sleeping in the truck. Evaluating the tent in the morning it was easy to see where it had failed. The seems on the internal tie to the poles had given way, the poles buckled and reality set in I just flushed $329 on one trip. Once I returned home and contacted customer service they immediately corrected the situation. The tent has an amazing amount of room, easy to set up, quality material, and great customer service. I have not had any issues with my new tent and it has weathered a few storms with out an issue. Only thing that keeps me up at night is those corners…….

If you are looking for a tent this size and you don’t buy this one, your a fool
So I bought this tent to replace an REI Kingdom 6. Needed more space. Reviews were good. This weekend we took it to Lake Shasta. Set up of the tent took two people around 15 minutes and we talked and moved slow and unloaded things not just worked on the tent. That evening it had rain showers. No issues with the tent. Friday the following day it rained the entire day, and for about 6 hours it was vertical hard rain, and made the place a muddy pool. There were no leaks, not one drop of water in the tent. I didn’t even get condensation inside the tent. This was half the cost of an REI tent, and so far 150% better. Plus it comes with a lifetime warranty from a reputable company. I am 6’4″ tall and having a 7’2″ center makes this thing fantastic. I can have all our gear for 4 of us, along with two kids sleeping areas, and our queen mattress, and still have room. We even had two additional friends of our kids sleep one night and had plenty of room left over. The divider was nice, had pockets for gear. the center had a hook for a lantern. I have been camping for years and this by far has exceeded my expectations. Could use a few additional comforts, but not necessary, and is by far better than anything I have ever owned

Awesome Huge Tent, easy to setup and great quality.
We purchased this tent about a year ago with hopes that it would have enough space for our family of 7 to sleep and camp comfortably. I am pleased to report that this tent has plenty of space for my wife and I on our cots and our 5 kids on their mats to sleep comfortably. I also feel that as they grow that there is enough space to accommodate them as they get older. The first time I set this tent up, I did it with the help of my wife and my oldest daughter. I have since become proficient enough that I can set it all up by myself in about 10 minutes. (I wouldn’t recommend that to a beginner though). We have used this tent in all kinds of weather (excluding harsh winter weather of course), and I have been surprised at how well this thing kept us dry in the rain. We had an absolutely torrential down-pour in the high mountains of Colorado and we did have some issues with water near some of the seams. I purchased a $5 bottle of tent sealant and applied it to the stitched seams and when the same kind of storm came again later in the summer and actually lasted for 6 hours, we didn’t see a drop of water inside.I think my favorite thing about this tent is just how large it is and how light it is considering the size. It is decently durable and has been great for our large family.

Amazing tent for the cost!
It was very easy to set up alone. At first I had my reservations about how well it would hold up to high winds or lots of rain but we had no problem. The first time we brought it out was actually in the Adirondaks in NY when the hurricane hit the Gulf coast this year (2020) and it poured for an entire day and we basically had rain on and off for the 4 days we were there. I was pleased that we had no leaking inside the tent and no problems with the wind. Water came down on the top of the tent and because there was so much flowed under the tent with no tarp and we did not have any problems.I would highly recommend this tent for any camping during normal temperatures. I can say it got a little cold because of how much screening was on the top but that is to be expected.

Very satisfied, Good product
The tent resist to wind ,easy to install .

Great value. Easy setup.
This is a really nice size tent. I did lots of research on water resistance before purchasing and found this one to have better ratings than core and Coleman tents. We got stuck in a pretty nasty storm and stayed completely dry. It’s a bit heavy but can be easily moved by one person. Perfect for car camping with the family.Setup took about 15 minutes.

Family of 6 loving our new tent.
Pleasantly surprised by this tent. We have never used a bighorn product but after a solid week of tent reviews, this one was the only one I though would fit what we are looking for. Family of 6, 2 adults, 2 kids (8&11), 2 dogs (Lola bear & Roxy foxy). We wanted to fit two queen blow-ups, two dog beds and have room for food and bags. It all fit perfectly and we feel tons of space as well as height. Over 7′ high. The materials are fantastic. Feels much more durable versus previous tents. The divider will be open for us the whole time but is a nice feature. It wasn’t difficult to put up however one thing that could make this tent even better would be if it were instant. Newer tents also have perks of lights and a built in fan, as well as power cord opening in a corner. But these feel more cosmetic. Straight sides are also a plus for room. I highly recommend it. I’ve also read reviews about the company being extremely accommodating if there is any soft of defect or issue.

Large, attractive and well designed tent
Great tent with plenty of room. Took it camping for the first time before ever putting it up but found it fairly easy to set up by following the instructions. I think it may be more difficult with just one person. The floor seemed thin but it’s sturdy and I put a tarp underneath to keep it dry and prevent rocks or sticks from penetrating it. It didn’t rain so I can’t tell if it will leak but I made this purchase after reading many reviews who claimed that the company was very supportive about any issues with their tents. It comes with tie down lines in case of winds as this is a cabin style tent and would be affected by high winds. The top is mostly an open mesh style and I was worried about being cold at night but didn’t find that to be a fact at all. It kept most of its warmth from the days sun and was a comfortable temperature, as I left the rain fly on. There are two large rooms and a door with each one with a center divider that can be zipped open if desired. The only addition that I would like to have been added would be a place to hang a light.

Glamping approved!
My husband and I like to go rustic camping, but when we go glamping we decided to go all out. This tent is great for that! You can stand upright throughout the entire tent. We used one half for a queen size cot with air mattress on top and the other half for our food and clothes. I will say that I think the floor is a bit thin and I’m afraid a stick or rock would slice through easily. We only got rained on once for a couple hours and this is where my only complaint is. The next morning when I went to zip the windows down there were rain drops on the part that folds down and since there is no way to roll the windows I didn’t want the inside of the tent to be wet so I had to wait a few hours for the rain to evaporate. To be fair we were on a slight angle and didn’t have the fly perfect so that was a contributing factor, otherwise this tent was perfect. We kept the box that fits in the bag and folded the tent back up so it fits in better and keeps it very organized. It’s also pretty heavy which is expected with the heavy duty poles it has.

Spacious tent from a quality company
UPDATE: I contacted browning about the holes in the tent (3 years later mind you as I didn’t know about their Lifetime Guarantee) and they sent me a brand new tent at no charge!! No returns, no extra hassle. They apologized for the unsatisfactory quality and sent a new one over to me as soon as it became available. Stand up company!Great size tent! Can fit a queen size air mattress, a large dog crate, and two single size air mattresses…. with plenty of walking space and space for your bags.Unfortunately the zippers for both doors and windows gave us a hard time. This was from our second use out at the cost. The winds were not aggressive at all, it was perfect beach weather on the northern coast.Hoping to come into contact with customer service about getting a replacement due to it’s faulty zippers.

This tent is only for bigboy campers who can tie knots and hammer stakes
This tent is a good looking tent and for the price is a good value for 2 season camping however you must make some basic preparations before you go camping with this tent if you expect wind, rain, or chilly weather, or you will hate the tent and never go camping with it again. That said, you can make this tent into your most prized possession if you do the following:1. You must do a shake out practice camp in your back yard so you can make sense of the setup. In the dark, this tent will eat you alive.2. The tent user must be aware that the profile on this tent makes it best for sailing and like a sail, will require no less than 100 feet of strong cord to keep it grounded. Any dollar store or Harbor freight will have acceptable poly cord so buy more than you think you will need.3. Buy 16 long tent stakes that will not come out of the medium you will be camping on top of.4. Stake this tent down and then tie it down and then if you want to use the rain fly, tie it down again. Here me? TIE THIS SUCKER DOWN!!!5. Buy tarp clips from the 99 cents store and get ready to tie the tent tarp down again if you have any hint of wind or get a rip on the fly.6. Buy a ground tarp. The floor is just crappy tent fabric. Make sure you put stuff on the floor as well or you will puncture the floor. Many value tents are made this way. Protect your floor.7. This tent is made to be drafty. The entire ceiling is mesh and it is great for 2 season camping however if you are going to the next level where you expect rain or cold wind then you need to get another big tarp to put over the mesh and under the rain fly.8. I was lucky and read many reviews before I pitched my tent. I bought all of the equipment I outlined above. I set up in the cold wind and in the dark by myself. It was a life threatening event that I was able to survive. After I used all of the stakes and cord I could find, my tent was not going anywhere. I looked out the window of my tent to see many tents being tossed about the campground like a dogs play toy. One set of campers were laughing out of pure confusion as they rolled about in their tent trying to keep a positive attitude about the unexpected gusts of wind. Once I knew I was sinched down safely, I put in some earplugs and slept like a baby in my browning Kenai -20 degree mummy bag. Take down was fine but not easy if the wind kicked up at all.9. Buy this tent if you are good with guide ropes and stakes. Do not buy this tent if you suck at camping and cant tie a granny knot. this is not a beginners tent. For a pro camper who needs room for 6 big boys with cots, this is the tent for you!

Good tent
The tent seems to be of decent quality. We might have to add a drainage hole near the window flaps so water doesn’t accumulate. After finding faulty stitching on the rain flap, we contacted the manufacturer. They sent a new flap right away, free of charge.

Great tent
This tent is awesome for our family of four. I can set it up alone, there is ample headspace, and it’s durable. We’ve had no issues with weather or rain. The tent is a great deal for such a large tent. One recommendation is to setup the roof/top poles first. Place them in their sleeves and into their brackets. Followed by the black metal support poles. This will make for a simple assembly. Disassemble in the opposite order, black metal poles followed by the roof. Easy peasy

Looks good so far!
We just set it up in the backyard to see how it works. Set up is easy. 2 people took maybe 10-15 minutes to set up. It will be faster now that we know what to do. The rain fly has a pole that goes along the edge so that the front and back stay up and away from the tent which is nice. I imagine a hard or windy rainstorm would probably still get in. It’s plenty tall even a very tall person could stand up in here no problem. I’m 5’6” and can barely reach the lantern clip at the center top. Because the rain fly sits up and away from the mesh roof I think it will be well ventilated but if it gets very cold you’re maybe not wanting all that air coming in. It’s a lightweight tent so I wouldn’t want this if I camped in harsh conditions anyway. We’re only going to California central coast so it should be fine. Pleased so far. Can’t give more than 3 stars until we actually use it in 2 weeks time. We’re going to put waterproofing on the seams ahead of time as other reviewers have mentioned.

Great tent, but a couple of drawbacks
4 stars instead of 5 because it leaks a little bit at the zipper stops. That being said, I just tested this tent over 4 nights in the worst torrential downpours in North Texas all year and while it did let in a little water at the zipper stops, it didn’t let in much. The seams are taped and the material is completely waterproof. Water pooled in my footprint beneath the tent, but the tent didn’t let any seep through. The first night, massive wind gusts did collapse one corner of the tent, but it was easily popped back into place. The tent held up through the remainder of the time, so while not as stable as a dome tent, it did pretty well for a cabin-style tent.PROS:* I was able to set it up by myself in about half an hour. I imagine it would go much more quickly with help. (Tip: the center of the tent is 7′ tall and I had to anchor the rainfly to the sides and hurl it over the top to get it on solo. If you have a helper, you could both just walk it over the top from opposite sides)* Great ventilation; no problem with condensation that I noticed* The tent is very spacious inside* As noted before, the seams are factory-taped, and the material doesn’t let water seep through* While the assembly instructions could be better, they are relatively straight-forward and easy to read, and they are sewn on a piece of water-resistant material to the inside of the storage bagCONS:* Obviously, the leakage where the zippers stop is a big one. The rainfly doesn’t cover the walls of the tent, so it doesn’t stop water from getting in at the doors and windows. Also, the vestibule is tiny and won’t stop rain from coming in through the door if you have to open it while raining.* Little things: there are little loops at the ceiling of the tent to hang a lantern, but if you’re not 6′ tall, you may not be able to reach them.* There are 6 pockets in the tent to store loose items, but they’re sewn into the room divider, so if you have the divider tied back, you can’t access the pockets* Stakes are standard thin metal. I purchased some studier steel stakes with green plastic hooks* This tent is very heavy, and it would have been nice for the storage bag to have rollers on the end* It would have been nice if the bag were a little bit larger so as to accommodate the footprint along with everything elseAll in all I’m very happy with this tent. I purchased it to replace a cheap Hillary that leaked like a sieve and I’m generally pleased with how it held up in the rain. I did a lot of research before buying, and while I think something like an Agnes Flying Diamond 8 would have kept ALL the water out, it wouldn’t be as roomy, and it certainly wouldn’t compare with the price point of this tent. Of all the tents I looked at, I think this offered the best overall value for the price.

This tent is all that it claims to be
I just got the tent and set it up in my living room. Super easy, intuitive setup and really easy take down. Tall – let me say that again – – tall – NO crouching. 8X10 interior – great for Queen air matress. I have 4 tents – none of the others are easier even though two are instant cabin types – they are too short – crouch city. Pack it away – – a breeze – just take care to fold it where it does not trap air and it fits back in the bag great.Got this for Jeep camping – I am really looking forward to trying it in the real world. Appears to be quality in all respects.

Holds up wonderfully to the abuse of four little boys!
We are on our third summer of camping with this tent. We have four little boys who are super hard on everything it seems and this tent has held up so well. It’s really well made. I love having the two separate rooms so we can zip the center closed. I also love that it’s full height so even hubs can stand up in it. There’s a nice big door on each side and loads of windows for fresh air. I suggest a broom because it’s a big surface area to keep clean inside. I thought this would be hard to put together being so large but it’s surprisingly simple and I’m really impressed with the quality and how sturdy it is. The trade off is that it’s pretty heavy but I don’t mind that. We’ve been in some gnarly wind storms in this tent and it’s handled it all with no issue. We love it! It was worth buying for sure and we look forward to many more camping trips with it.

Great Tent with Excellent Customer Service
This has to be the best tent we have used ! This tent is 10 x 15 with a very high ceiling height, we wanted a tent we could stand up completely inside and this one fits that bill. The top corners of the tent are reinforced, it comes with heavy duty poles and the bath tub floor comes up higher than other tents we have had in the past. We noticed small holes in one top corner of the tent, emailed customer service, and got a reply back within 15 minutes with Fed Ex tracking information, they sent us a new tent skin to replace the one with the holes and it arrived in just a couple days. The customer service for this tent is top notch. I liked it having the option to use the room divider or tie it back. We had no problem setting this tent up, took us about 15 minutes.

Can’t rate it high
We’re regular campers who broke the pole to our Bushnell rain fly. We thought we would get a larger tent to keep from having to have more than one little dome accompaniment with the older kids. This tent is great if you’re looking for a massive tent for larger families in good weather. It is NOT for any degree of cold, wind, or rain. We preset, and waterproofed, but this is very much not a tent meant for any dip in degree. It is FREEZING. We had to go buy a heater and we are used to Michigan camping. It may be waterproof, but where the screens are? Forget about that applying to hard rain. If it’s coming sideways, it’s coming into that tent. The setup also requires at least 2 people, 3 or 4 if there’s a hard wind at setup and also at first try. (It’ll feel like you’re about to tear it, but it is fine.) It is huge, and we double checked that it meets most state and national pad site requirements. We just also had to buy a heater for Texas camping in March at 39° for the baby in the tent. A tent with a closer fitting rain fly and less exposed ceiling wouldn’t need that. So, great for late spring and summer with a larger group (we fit 2 queens, a raised twin, a full, 5 bags of gear, and a propane heater) not meant at all for fall or early spring.

Super good quality tent.
Happy with every aspect of this tent especially for the size. Usually a tent this large is extremely heavy and difficult to put up. Not this one. Everything from the zippers to the seams are really well constructed. I would recommend this tent to anyone who likes extra space and the ability to stowe gear. You can fit 8 people in this no problem, but we use it for a family of three because we like being able to change and move around in the tent while having our gear protected at the same time from rain, bugs and the sun. This thing is massive and people we’ve camped with were impressed by the size and the price. Highly recommend.

Don’t buy
The windows are not sewed even with screens..They pocket water in a storm and WILL LEAK INTO YOUR TENT… Very poor design on the windows and they will not make it right…. You are better with a coleman tent if you want quality and durability

Roomy, easy to set up and take down.
Only used this tent one time so far, but it appears to be exactly what I wanted. My husband and I are occasional, weekend campers and not as spry as we used to be. So we wanted a tent that we could stand up in. It also needed to fit one of those tall queen sized air mattresses with space walk around it and be able to get in and out of bed without risk of lurching into the side of the tent in the middle of the night. This tent fits the bill perfectly. We put the air mattress in the end AWAY from the door we plan to use and have plenty of space to store stuff and move around easily. At first, I was a bit concerned about the room divider. You can’t tie it completely out of the way if you want to use the tent as one large space. It ended up not really being a problem for us though. I do think you could probably get it cinched a bit closer to the walls using some sort of clips above the tie-backs (e.g. clothespins). The tent is easy for the two of us to set up and take down. The first time we did it, we had a little confusion about the orientation of the rain fly, but just rotated it until it lined up with the doors. Now we know to look for the channel for the rods that go in the rainfly over each door. The tent stakes are the same flimsy type we had with our previous Coleman tent. If you camp on hard or rocky ground, you might want to get some sturdier ones that don’t bend so easily. We normally only camp on grass, so have not had any concerns about damaging the tent’s floor material. We use a fairly lightweight tarp underneath. If you are in rougher terrain, I would think you’d want a thicker tarp or footprint product just to be safe.

Amazing value and dry!
After a dry run, this tent sets up easily in 15 minutes or less even solo. The first night I had it out it withstood steady rain all night long. The only water inside is what I brought in with me. The second night it poured on top of the already saturated ground resulting in flooding. There were areas that had 2 inches of water you could measure from inside the tent. Once again not a single drop got it. I love this tent so far and would buy another if this one floated away. Because it would definitely float like a boat…

Great Glamping Tent!
I don’t know how they did it but when this thing is erected and decorated, I’m not kidding, it looks like the inside of an apartment. I use it for my glamping business and when people unzip the door, they get this big smile, look at me and then disappear inside. I’ve used 10′ x 14′ tents a lot but the one extra foot on this one (10′ x 15′) makes more than a little difference. I’d gotten used to the 10 x 14’s with doors on the ends and wasn’t sure I’d like the door situated on the the sides. It’s changed the way I look at tents. I thought I’d lose floor space plus I had my decorating scheme downpat with doors on the ends – now I’m eyeballing tents with the offset door on the side because of this tent. The only thing I’d improve is a way to hold back the unzipped curtain at the current level AND a higher level. You have to kinda duck toward the middle to avoid the curtain. In my other tents, the dividing curtain fastens to the roof of the tent which means rolling yards of silky material into a long roll – kinda like trying to turn a double bed sized flat sheet into a long sausage. The Browning curtains more elegantly split in the middle and like drapery, gather and tuck on the sides. I just would like a tuck about head level and hip level just to get it out of the way.The tents held up to months of being in the outdoors. It’s protected by trees on all sides so no issue about the sun fading the color. It’s undergone flash flooding and winds up to 40 mph without so much as a drop inside. The floor is of thicker material than other tents I’ve owned. Apparently it’s not mildew resistant but I’m not sure it’s advertised as such. I treated it with mildew root killer treatment and it’s back to its pretty yellow, creme and brown colors. (Photo by Kelly Stewart)

Great tent so far. No disappointments. Exactly what I wanted!
I give this tent a 5 star rating for several important reasons. It’s made of very sturdy material, zippers never snagged on me, it visually looks good, it kept all of the insects out, there was something to hang up a small light with, as you might see in the photo, and I had a great time with my family up in Joshua Tree. It was easy to put up and take down.If you want an absolutely honest opinion, it’s not really as lightweight as you might think because the steel poles are heavy, but that’s a good thing. This tent will stand pretty still with some wind and not fly away. I wouldn’t recommend it for long rugged hikes. It’s great for pulling out of your truck and over to your campsite. Another thing is, it’s very spacious and high, which I love, but if you plan on using air mattresses or cots, then consider this more of a 4 man tent. 5 would work for sleeping on the ground. Can’t wait to use this again!

Spacious and very comfortable tent
My boys and I had the tent out this past weekend. The weather was expected to be clear with very little chance of rain so I almost didn’t even put up the rain fly for the tent. Needless to say I’m glad I put the rain fly up. Let me just say setting up the tent is a breeze. It does take two people but really only takes about 15-20 minutes. I do suggest setting it up before your first outing just to get comfortable with your new tent.About two hours after setting up the tent the rain came pouring down on our camp out as we were serving dinner. We tried to avoid going back to the tent to eat but the rain was coming down in buckets. We retreated to the tent and set up all of our chairs inside as we sat to eat and visit. We had more than enough room even with 4 sleeping bags set up on one side of the tent. The rain ended up stopping for a while just before going to bed but later started in the evening for most of the night. The best part about this tent is we stayed dry for the entire night. The night was fairly humid but there are more than enough vents on the tent for adequate airflow. The next morning it was pretty soggy outside but the tent kept us all dry from the elements. We had many other campers in the area and lots of them were wanting to know where I got this tent. Many of which spent much more in price for other tents that were not of the quality as this Browning Big Horn Tent.I did plenty of research all over the internet before buying this one. Overall I’d give this tent 10 stars if I could so if your looking for a new tent I highly recommend you give this one a closer look.

Heavy wind caused an issue but easily fixed
This tent was used for beach camping and did pretty well. We had sustained 25-30mph wind one night and the corner did collapse but was easily reinforced with a rip on all 4 corners. We had heavy rain for 2 nights and minimal leakage. I attribute the leaking more to the wind going under the rain fly due to the win than actual leaking. There was a small tear in the door seam after the heavy wind which was easily patched. This thing is huge, my family of 5 was comfortable with all our gear and a king and queen air mattress. I would give it 5 stars but the wind collapse was a problem but easily fixed. I do suggest using an additional waterproof spray to help. Overall this is a good investment and I’m happy with the purchase. For the non beach camper this would be great. We have used it in a more typical wooded environment and had no issues. The floor could be thicker but putting an additional tarp down was no problem. I would purchase again!

lots of room, good quality, very happy
this tent is great. it did take a couple of practice set-ups because we haven’t done much camping and its a very big tent, but once we read the directions and got a feel for it, its nice and sturdy and takes about 15 minutes to set up with two people. we bought this tent despite no reviews because we wanted a screen roof and rain fly, we liked that they specifically listed what materials were used, and the company seems reputable from what we could find out. we considered a coleman instant tent, but if you break a pole on those, you can’t replace it, and we wanted the screen roof/fly option. This tent is quite roomy – queen mattress, chair and lots of gear one one side, twin mattress and pack-n-play and more gear on other side, with plenty of room to walk and play, and nothing touching the straight sides. its really, really tall (i am 5’8″ and couldn’t touch the top) so its easy to dress, stretch, or walk around with gear or a fussy toddler.we were in 85/55 degree weather, so can’t really speak to weatherproofing. all the windows made for good cross-ventilation, and there are supports for the rain fly over the doors so it lifts off the top of the tent in those two spots by about 5 inches and an inch or two everywhere else for great air flow (and i was thinking we could remove those two supports if it got cold and we wanted to keep more air in). We really liked it, and it seems like very good quality that will hold up to more vigorous camping with the kids.note: the guy lines are only attached to the rain fly (which secures nicely to the tent), so if you want to be without a the fly but expect some strong wind (not an experienced camper, so not sure if that would happen), you might want to get another set of guy lines to attach directly to the tent. and as usual, the tent stakes are the cheaper wire ones.

Easy set up and you stay dry in the Big Horn 5
The Browning Big Horn 5 is hands down a fantastic tent. I used it the first time this weekend in Cherokee,NC. and it was the same weekend that Hurricane Delta came through. The winds were no concern but it rained non stop Friday through Sunday. I did spray it down with some water repellent after I set up on Thursday and I can honestly say that I was dry inside the tent the entire time. My footprint tarp had a few puddles of water but not a drop of water came through the floor of the tent. I really like all the space it had,the easy effort it was getting in and out the tent, and especially how dry I stayed the entire trip. There were 7 other tents set up with the rest of my buddies and including mine only 1 more was dry the entire time. Set up time by myself was only 10 minutes! This product is VERY deserving of the Browning name. I have multiple firearms, clothing, and outdoor products by Browning and I’ve never been disappointed and this tent is another I can say I’ll have for years to come.

Not quite the waterproof tent we were expecting.
I purchased this tent originally in September 2015. We had a particularly bad camping trip with our old tent where torrential downpours plagued us, inside and out. When shopping for a new tent, I chose this one based on reviews that said it was nearly impervious to rain. We camped in it once for 3 days in October 2015 (no rain!) and were generally pleased with how large and roomy it was for a family of four plus a dog. Fast forward five years, we took this tent out for a camping trip this last weekend—to note, this is only the second camping trip this tent has been on—and ended up with another rainy weekend. There was flooding in our camp site once again; the bottom of the tent literally looked like a waterbed with how much water was passing under it! While the bottom remained dry, I can’t speak the same for the top of the floor basin or for the doors and windows. We had quite a bit of water coming in both doors through the zipper, plus through one of the windows and through the top seam of the basin. While I’ve seen worse happen in a tent, I was pretty bummed that this happened in a tent I was pretty positive would be completely waterproof, especially with no visible holes and only it’s second time in use. I would expect that to happen after five years if we had consistently been using the tent and not maintaining it, but for this to happen after only two uses? All of our camping gear is stored inside our house year-round, so it didn’t go through any inclement weather when it was packed up or extreme temperature changes. I hate to say it, but if you really want something waterproof, I’d look elsewhere. Or be prepared to re-waterproof the tent before you take it out in the first place. Aside from that, the tent was perfect for our needs—plenty of room for a queen air bed, two twin air beds, a dog bed and still room to spare to walk around without anyone being hunched over. The basin is a little high off the ground, so it will be harder for those with little legs to go in and out of the doors without tripping. This is also not a lightweight tent.

I did the research for you, look no further.
I really like this tent. I cannot believe how easy it is to set up for a tent this size. I remember going camping as a child and regretting having to set up the tent. On my first outing I got to the campsite too late and had to set it up by myself with very little light. This was the first time I had to take it out of the bag. I had it up in under 10 minutes in almost total darkness. I then took it out again for a second trip and had my brother-in-law with me. I would guess we had it up in under 5 minutes. The size is awesome. I am 6′ 5″ and love that I can walk around freely with no worries of ducking. I also and I love that it has two rooms, we had six people on air mattresses and with all our gear we were very comfortable. The uncles and nephews had one side and the nieces had the other with their own door to boot!It did rain on our trip, but I had sprayed it down before the second camping trip with camp dry. We had no problems with water! I then took it to my barn after the trip and set it up with my niece for it to dry out before storage. Again, the two of us had it up in about 5 minutes. I did a lot of research before I purchased this tent and so far I have no regrets! From what I am reading from others, Browning stands behind their products, and I am sure that if a problem did arise I would be taken care of.
