(Review written by Caitlyn’s husband)I am a streamer on Twitch who has had a lot of viewer growth recently. The only thing holding me back was the crappy sound quality of the headset microphone I was using. After weeks of complaining about having to use my headset microphone, my wife surprised me with this. Let me just say: she did a fantastic job. I may keep her after all.First off, my immediate impression upon unboxing it was how well it is made and how nice it looks. It seems like it will last me a long time.Second, the sound quality is INCREDIBLE. As with any microphone, you have to mess with the settings and find the perfect ones that suit your voice. After doing this, my voice sounds crisp, clean, balanced, and most importantly, PROFESSIONAL.Also, I effectively eliminated all background noise with my settings. That means my viewers can no longer hear my wife nagging me in the background when I’ve been playing my games entirely too long. It’s worth five stars for that alone!!Third, it was super easy to set up, and the customer service is fantastic. My only recommendation if you are looking for a mic for streaming purposes is to buy one of those adjustable stands that clamp to the side of your computer desk. The closer your mouth is to the mic (like all mics), the better you will sound. Conclusion: HIGH-QUALITY MIC AT A FRACTION OF THE COST. Best bang for your buck!

Excellent microphone for the price. The sound quality is excellent, noise reduction is great and I just had to plug the microphone. I would definitely recommend it. Very satisfied.

As an instructor at a local self defense gym, I’ve been setting up for broadcasting online classes due to these social distancing and isolation orders going around. We put the TONOR USB microphone to the test today and were absolutely amazed at the results. The gym is quite large, but in our sample broadcast, I was able to walk around the entire place while talking and everyone was able to hear loud and clear. The pop filter kept the sound coming in nice and clearly. What amazes me is that we are getting so much value in this device. An old acquaintance spent $1500 on audio equipment to get sound that wasn’t all that superior to this. While there are reasons to get that kind of gear, I don’t have need of it. The TONOR satisfies the technical need and the wallet need.

Very clear from 1-20″. Width of the cardioid seems to be about 140 degrees, with a nice decibel cut outside of the optimal range/direction.Mic does not have a physical gain – gain should be adjusted at the sound device level. And then the application using the mic can adjust the “input volume”. Suggest running the gain around 60-80%. While the device does not present a hum or anything abnormal at 100% gain, the clearest/most HiFi sounding, gain levels without clipping are between 60-80.The Pop Filter being as part of the mic shock frame is actually really cool, adjusting the angle of the mic on a boom – you do not also have to readjust the pop filter, it’s all one movement as the pop filter is on the shock frame, not a boom arm.Edit: Updated to add pictures.

Hey all-I posted a video to show how it will sound when plugged into a desktop. It was simply plug-and-play with the USB.Pros: Looks cool Sounds great, hides all noise from behind the microphone Easy to set up Cheap price!Cons: The keyboard makes a lot of noise when speaking. I have to be aware of this when I am in a Zoom call. Other than this, I love this purchase. My classmates have seen a huge quality difference from my previous gaming headphones as well. Hope you like it as much as I do 🙂

I used Blue Yeti mics for years. The problem with them, however, is they were super flakey. Sometimes the USB would recognize them and other times it would not. Sometimes the mute button would work, other times it would not. Sometimes the mic would work, other times it would go dark. My first Yeti was always flaky but still usable until about 6 month when it became a nightmare to set it working. After a year, it died entirely. My second Blue Yeti experience was no different, so I thought I would take a chance on this Toner mic. Hey, even if it flaked out, the replacement cost is 1/4 the price, so I would rather keep buying these instead of Yetis.Luckily, this mic is super reliable and not flakey at all. You plug it in, it is recognized and starts working immediately – end of story. The sound is no slacker either. It picks up my voice clear and crisp with no background noise whatsoever. In fact, I never had a mic with such good background noise suppression. By comparison, my Blue Yeti picked up every sound in the room, even when it was set to unidirectional. The only negative is the mic does not record as hot as my Yeti. This was easily corrected by setting the level to 100%. Even at 100% level, this mic still did not pick up any background noise – impressive! My only wish is that the mic picked was a little hotter. Even at 100% the sound is still a little cold, but more than acceptable. As far as I am concerned, Toner is now my go-to mic.

Just a quick context for background – I have always done YouTube and edited videos and what not, but ever since 2020, which by the way I hope all of you reading this right now are OK and doing well, but ever since then, I have started a podcast with my best friend that I’ve had since childhood. He had a much more expensive and much nicer Quality Mike, and I was not expecting to have the same sound quality as him or even be as satisfied as I am but I am here to tell you the honest truth, I am extremely happy with this.! Are use zoom meetings with it, I use my podcast, and I also overdub on my YouTube video audios! And it is very crisp and clear and I was even complemented in zoom chat my strangers who said I sounded very professional compared to everybody else LOL so I love it! I only wish I just had an extendable arm instead of a small stand but it’s OK because I don’t really find myself leaning forward or having to put it near close my face because it picks up sound so well. I might post a video review, but seeing as I’m on my phone, I’ll have to do from my laptop. I started out using The pop filter and took off the top foam cover, but For my personal expectations I found that putting the foam on it and having it at a certain angle and what night works for me, it’s really about your preference! But it definitely was more than worth the price. Thank you very much TONOR!

UPDATE: I would like to update my previous review which extended only a 1 star to this product. I found out shortly after this review that you must edit your speaker settings and place the pickup volume as 100. This is actually cited in the guide that is provided with the product. I deliberately placed it at under the 100 mark because I assumed this would result in too much voice pickup but it is actually necessary for the pickup of your voice to be enough to be heard and to be vividly clear. This is an excellent product but that requirement in the settings needs to be made more clear, it isn’t an option it’s a requirement that your audio pickup in settings be placed at the 100% mark.Speaker worked great for 1 week. I detached once, then re-attached it to my PC. Proceeded to record something listened to it on my PC and the volume of my voice was so low I thought I might have not touched the play button. Played it again barely no audio sound. Put my volume on max still I could barely hear my voice. Disappointing. I have a feeling a lot of the reviews on here were due to some kind of reviewing incentive. This product clearly long term or even in this case in the short term is not a good purchase when it comes to performance. I will reach out to their customer service but honestly I’m annoyed I even need to. Most likely will be returning for a different brand

I use this primarily for work meetings using my laptop. The Tonor microphone isolates the background noises well, being that it’s a directional condenser microphone. My voice can be heard clearly on the other end and my co-workers confirmed that the background noises are isolated fairly well. With my laptop built-in mic, they could hear my kids in the background quite clearly but with the Tonor microphone, it’s barely discernable so there’s less distraction.Setup was a breeze. It came almost fully preassembled out of the box, I just needed to screw on the screen and plug it in to an available USB port on my computer. Win10 recognized it and automatically installed the necessary drivers to add it as a microphone. I could adjust the microphone levels through the sound settings menu as well as the Zoom audio settings menu. The tripod seems to do the job well. The mic is stable and hasn’t fallen over despite the occasional bump. The microphone is suspended in the tripod “holder” by four black rubber bands, two on the top and two on the bottom. I believe they’re there to isolate the microphone from “contact” noise like the noise you hear when you have a wired headset and it picks up contact on the cord as noise.Quite happy with it.Main reason I got it is that I’ve been working remotely for the past 3+ months and have to join multiple online voice or video calls for work. With kids and “home” noises in the background, my laptop built-in mic was picking up nearby noises even with the door closed, so I started looking for an external microphone to help block out unwanted background noises. I already have a headset but the cord tends to get in the way, plus I had to be able to pay attention to what was going on in the house which you can’t do well when you’re wearing headphones.

I have uploaded a video to show the sound quality of the microphone. I believe it is very good for this price range. I have a Yeti Blue as well and I cannot tell the difference in sound quality even though it is more expensive.Pros:Plug and PlayPop filters includedGreat sound qualityShock absorbentCon:Does not have on/off switch, so if you don’t want your computer to recognize it as an input, you will need to unplug it.
