UPDATE :While i initially had an issue it has all been since addressed more than i could have asked for. Basically (for those who do not want to read what’s below here from the original 2 star review) I had a problem with the USB cable and was unable to contact the company through their website. But they saw my review, and not only reached out to me, but sent me replacement parts and complete packages. They were prompt, and swift and fixing the issue and I cannot be any happier.——————I originally purchased this to work with my ASUS and it worked well! I have now purchased a new laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad) and I cannot get it to work at all. I’ve messed around with the USB ports, I have tried to change the mic settings in the laptop but as a whole the USB port and the mic will not be recognized. How do I know it’s the mic? Because my laptop does fine with my old CAD microphone.ON TOP OF THIS I cannot get Maono to help with this as their own website will not allow me to fire off an email under their “support” page! I am MORE than willing to change my review as this DID work beautifully – but only if I can get some support.I’m MORE than happy to change this from a 2 star to a 5 if because it USED to work wonderful – but I need to1) GET IN CONTACT WITH MAONO AND YET THEIR WEBSITE ALWAYS “ERRORS” OUT ON SENDING EMAILS TO THEM2) I can order a new USB cable (either through them or on Amazon)

Now I will say I just got this, and it is my first boom mic. But WOW, talk about smooth!!I was going to buy the Yeti, I’ve had the whole system in my Cart several times. I was reading the reviews on this and thought what the heck $65 is certainly worth a shot. RIGHT on TARGET, I couldn’t be happier with the sound quality for voiceover. Sorry not a singer, so no review there. But the sound is very smooth and easily cancels out the keyboard and ambient noises.I will say if you use both the mic cover and the pop shield you’ll want to speak a touch louder or amp your recording just a touch. It’s a bit quiet with both filters in place, but no way a deal breaker.Sound is solid and not tinny. I speak about two to three inches from the shield which is about two inches from the foam mic cover. If I had one wish, it would be for a nicer boom arm. This one is pretty basic. But then again once set-up there’s really very little movement outside of swiveling it into place.Couldn’t be easier to use. Out of the box, about four minutes to assemble and mount, plug in the USB…bam done.Looks good, sounds good. I might buy a better boom arm later, but it’ll be awhile.

If you’re looking to upgrade your recording setup and don’t want to mess with picking out all the different parts you’ll need, this is a great kit for a decent price! You’ll get:- USB Microphone- Shock Mount- Scissor Stand w/ Vice Clamp Mount- Foam Wind Sock Cover- 2-Layer Pop Filter- 10 foot (3 meter) USB CableThat’s everything you need to record podcasts, videos, livestreams, or whatever your recording needs are in one package.Everything you hear in this video was recorded on the Maono AU-A04 USB Condenser Microphone Studio Kit.It’s super easy to setup and sounds just as good as my Audio-Technica AT2020 microphone / Behringer U-Phoria UM2 setup for a fraction of the cost!I highly recommend this setup!

TL;DR This mic has superb quality and nothing has broken after 2 years. Only con is there are no buttons on the micIve had this mic setup for the past 2 years now and nothing has broken. Swing arm works great, shock mount hasnt fallen apart, and above all, the mic continues to perform. It just works. Every single time I turn the computer on, it just works, without fail. Im no audiophile but I do consider myself to be very picky when it comes to audio quality and this mic is high quality enough that discord and WFH setup programs just dont do it justice. I had to manually record my voice and play it back to truly hear how high quality this mic was. I get compliments all the time from streamers, friends and family about how high quality my mic sounds. Once I setup a noise gate on discord it was good to go! Directional condensor mic with stand, shock mount, pop filters and cables? all for 45 bucks? this is a STEAL.My only complaint is that there isnt ANY sidetone output or buttons on the mic to toggle it off/on or adjust levels. its a set and forget kinda setup. Great for beginners to literally just plug in and control via software you use (discord, skype, ventrillo, zoom, streamlabs OBS, etc)

I have had this Mic for roughly two weeks at this point and the Mic has good audio quality. I have gotten several positive comments on my live streams and video’s I produce on YT. I would recommend this for anyone that needs improved audio for YT production and does not have a full studio setup with a dedicated mixing board for their Mic. Fast, easy, instant upgrade for you video productions.

Just plugging it in and testing it was very worrying. But after tweaking some settings (on OBS) its actually well worth $50. If installed correctly, the arm, cable and shock mount are sturdy.

I am very pleased with this purchase. I was tasked with recording multiple recordings for our company voicemail. I worked with our IT Department all week and there was just no improvement in sound quality no matter how hard we tried. (HQ is in another state, so this was getting done remotely regardless of the closed offices). I really thought long and hard before spending the extra money to purchase a microphone. I felt I was really overdoing it for a simple answering machine. I found that I had ordered just what I needed and now the recordings sound great! Price wise this was really the best bang for the buck. I needed a good quality at a mid-range price and that is what I got! The ease of use is just perfect. I literally plugged this in and started talking. I am a beginner as in never ever. I did not have to troubleshoot a thing. I just put this together and started using it. This microphone instantly solved the problem we were having with white noise in the background. We will not have the luxury of sound mixing and voice scrubbing and all of those wonderful options sound engineers have, so the problem had to be resolved at the recording end. This product accomplished that. I will now keep it in place on my desk for all of my Zoom and Teams meetings and for when I host the company podcasts. I am thrilled I purchased this as it will give me a professional edge in my every day work. It is something I never really thought of as an item I could benefit from yet it did its job so well that I now do not want to record anything without it! Don’t be afraid of overkill, this is a problem solver for sure. I should have purchased this sooner!

I don’t normally give out 5 star ratings, however my reasoning behind giving the Maono Studio Mic Set a 5/5 stars is based on the performance vs price. Most super high quality Studio Mic Sets can range from $200-$1,000. So this mic set definitely falls into the budget Studio Mic Set category. With that being said, your expectations need to be realistic. You can’t expect this to compare to a $500 mic set. However, for the price of $58 (Which is what I paid), this mic set is pretty fantastic. What I LIke:- Sound quality was nice- Easy to set up- Quick connection to my computer- Decent material for durabilityWhat I didn’t Like:- More maneuverability with mic head. It was adjustable, but I wanted to tweak it a bit more easily, (Not a big deal)Overall/Recommendation:If you are looking for a budget Studio Mic Set, this is definitely a solid option. Just remember to be realistic with expectations. I will be using this mic set for quite some time.

It’s plug and play, you don’t need a separate power supply. The sound quality is way better than a lapel mic. It’s a solid mic, I’m new to video blogging and video editing so it’s a good beginner mic or if you are on a budget. I’ve done a couple of projects with it and so far no problems.

I purchased this to record voice overs for my youtube channel & to use as my microphone while streaming. It came with everything needed to mount to my desk and get up and running in minutes. The mount is very sturdy and the microphone quality is top notch. It is a very affordable solution and i am very pleased with it.
