Initial impression is that this is a quality product. I can see how the green rubber grips might come out over time, but looks good out of box. The sheath also seems quality built with 5 rivets along the length. Tough plastic liner inside the sheath. Loop with a snap above the guard will keep the blade in place. The belt loop allows about a 2 inch belt and is fastened with snaps, so you don’t have to take your belt off to remove the sheath.I look forward to using this on clearing some paths through undergrowth. The weight feels just right for having heft without excess.

Blade is great. We have been doing lots of work in the yard, but the handle broke. We bought it last month and my returnin window closed 3 days before handle broke. I was frustrated. But contected Hooyman customer service and they were amazing! Friendly, quick and sent me a replacement right away!

I used this a few times after I bought it and it was ok. I used it all day in the yard today and it was amazing. Handle grip is excellent. Heft and thickness of the blade prevents a light strike or serious vibration in your hand/arm. It is sharp and takes care of business from bushes to felled pine tree limbs. I was totally impressed with this machete. Sorry it took so long for the review but it took spring before I got out and used it. Would buy again if needed but the way it’s made if I buy again it will be a gift. Very impressed with the quality for the price.

Fits your hand nicely. Seems to be of excellent quality. I took it out of the package and right to the backyard. I wanted to cut down a banana tree that had already been picked. There was another tree about two inches from where I needed to cut. I lined it up and took a full swing. Right thru the 6″ trunk with one swipe without touching the other tree. And at 74, I’m not that strong. Good knife.

I never thought I would need the sleeve but yes, after use, I must put it back. It is so sharp. The protective sleeve is good for storage. The weight is good when cutting tree limbs. The cutting blend hasn’t bent or lost sharpness. I have used it quite much but haven’t sharpened it yet. It’s a must have tool for trimming out of control tree limbs

This product is well made. The grip really fits your hand well. The 400 series stainless steel should hold an edge pretty well and provide good corrosive protection. The length and weight are perfect for a nice swing. I thought that I would have to sharpen it when I got it but it came with a good edge. The sheath is decent.

So far so good. I used it right out of the box to cut down some pretty thick ivy growing up my redwoods. Even after hacking away it didn’t chip or crack. The grip is nice and it looks good. If it chips or cracks I’ll be sure to update my review, but for the money, it’s a great choice.
