Jumper cables in each vehicle are a NECESSITY where I come from. I was so tired of p***ing around with cheap, short jumper cables that wouldn’t reach, had low conductivity and would fall apart after a few uses. These are VERY long, longer than the length of my Subaru which is awesome because Murphy’s law states that ‘if a vehicle’s battery is going to die said vehicle will be parked in the WORST possible location/position to try to reach with shorter jump cables.’ No worries. You can literally park BEHIND the dead vehicle and still reach to jump it. These have great conductivity- it takes a minute or two at most to conduct enough power to jump. These are VERY heavy. I don’t suspect they will be falling apart any time soon. Love these cables!

I have had a pair of similar jumper cables for some 40 years when they were still had all copper wire. I put them in my new truck and bought this pair for my 1989 Silverado daily driver. With the winter storms, I have since had 2 occasions to use the Cartman cables and they worked great both times. The second time I jumped a friend’s garden tractor which was located in a garage and it was great to have the 20′ cables which just reached. Great clamps and the #4 gauge carries the needed amps to start bigger engines.

These cables latch on great and are heavy duty. The clamps have strong jagged teeth for extra grip. I bought these because I find myself needing them really often. I bought the 25ft cables, they are great especially if youโ€™re in a packed parking lot. You donโ€™t have to wait on someone immediately next to you to come back to their car to jump you. With these I was able to get someone to help that was a few cars down from me. Also comes with gloves, carry bag drawstring, and rust brush. 10/10

These are the nicest cables I have ever had and would expect I would never need another pair unless of course these disappear somehow. The cheaper ones always break, most always the plier coming loose from the wire. Not these. I did opt for the UL label. It’s quite possible the ones $3 cheaper without the label are the same? I don’t know. I certainly am very satisfied with this buy.

These are clearly much better than typical auto parts store cables. I purchased these to keep in my RAM 1500. The more common, smaller gauge cables wouldn’t boost the batteries found in these types of vehicles, so heavier gauge cables are a must. I see some reviews are complaining about the cables being copper clad aluminum vs solid copper cables. That’s simply an example of having a little, but not enough knowledge. The Service Entrance cables from the utility pole to your home are strictly aluminum – not copper and not even copper-clad aluminum. For the person looking to boost most types of vehicle batteries encountered, there’s just simply no need for anything more than these. These are “heavy duty” in the sense that they are a larger gauge than most of the more commonly available and smaller 6 or 8 gauge cables found in retail stores. (Reminder…the smaller the number the larger the gauge and thicker the wire….4 gauge is thicker than 8 gauge). These are built well, the clamps are versatile, insulated well and more than heavy enough for most scenarios. I used them once so far over the winter – not terribly cold – maybe upper 20’s (F) to jump a Jeep and they worked and handled well. The additional length is a huge convenience, especially with a larger vehicle such as mine. You don’t have to worry about positioning the vehicles just right to use them. They came with a pair of gloves and a small wire brush for cleaning terminals. Not essential, but a nice touch. The carrying bag is sufficient for a typical few-times-per year use, and the cables should provide years of use if stored responsibly and not used to tie-down cargo or if hastily rolled-up, tangled and thrown in a trunk. If you are performing regular recovery service you would need a better carrying case. Also – they are not intended to be pulled-apart, as the jacket is not perforated and will likely tear and expose the conductors. Another reviewer peeled them apart and then complained the conductors became exposed. If you want cables that are completely separate you can find and purchase them that way. Not sure why someone would alter a product then ding it for failing. I wouldn’t pay much attention to some of the over dramatic negative reviews or the one’s complaining about copper-clad vs pure copper conductors. Those differences are applicable for precise electronics where every watt and milliamp count and extreme efficiency is needed. Boosting a battery requires sufficient voltage and current for a relatively short time, and nothing more. I spent 10 years in the electrical trades and now do design work which entails calculating current, voltage drop and ampacity. In my opinion and experience, these are a good purchase overall for what they’re designed for.NOTE: I purchased this item on Amazon for full price and have no affiliation to the seller. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are not well written or give poor reviews based on not reading directions, inexperience or failing to read the product details prior to purchasing. Writing valuable reviews helps pay it forward.

Impressive weight. Needed the extra length to assist others. Came with a bag, gloves, and a metal brush to clean the terminals. Wasn’t expecting all that. Everything fits nicely into the bag, and is stored in my Jeep. Just in case.

I live in Phoenix where most batteries last at most 2 years due to the constant 110+ degree heat during the summer. As a result, I frequently have to jump the cars in my garage every summer to make the inevitable run to get a new prorated battery. I’ve bought a few cheaper cables in the past from WM and AZ that have failed to get the job done — I’ve yet to have any issues with these cables. I attribute that to the clamp design with its multiple contact points and the high quality cable, versus the alternatives where only one part of the clamp is actually fused to a rather thin cable. You won’t have any issues buying this.

As you can see in my pictures… these are good solidly made jumper cables… not too thick, not too thin. Comes with a basic black bag that has a barrel style cord lock stopper so you can cinch the bag up to securely keep the cables inside. Also, has a nice instructional sheet attached to the cables to give you a friendly reminder on how to attach the cables properly to the batteries.

Update: these cables are garbage. I tried to use them for the first time and was unable to jump the vehicle. I had to buy a cheap set from the store. Sorry I spent money on something that I didn’t learn was defective until nearly a year later. After sitting for a few weeks (waiting on a part to fix a window that wouldn’t go up), my son’s car battery was dead. He asked me to help him jump start it. His battery is in the center, mine is on the driver’s side. I could only pull up on the driver’s side of his car and the cables he had were not long enough. We got his girlfriend’s cables. They were the same cheap (they had come apart into two cables), short set as his. I ended up having to drive through my yard, around a tree and pull up with my front end almost touching the side of his car to make it work. As soon as we got him running, I came to Amazon looking for longer, sturdier cable. I chose this set because they came with a bag and I would have bought some sort of bag anyway. I was surprised to open the box and find not only the nice sturdy cables and the bag but a small wire brush (to clean the terminals) and a pair of work gloves. I’m really happy with my purchase, especially knowing we’ll be well prepared for the next jump start situation.

Every vehicle should have jumper cables in the trunk. I learned that lesson the hard way at college. After learning that lesson, I bought these jumper cables and stored them in my trunk. They came in the bag as described, and with a flimsy paper set of instructions if needed. They seemed decent quality from initial inspection. A month after buying these, I had to use them. I can happily say that they performed admirably. They jumped my buddies car no problem and stowed away nicely to be used again. I am very happy with the purchase and hopefully will not need to replace these for years and years to come…cause I’m guessing jumper cables don’t spoil, so yea. Great purchase!
