This thing is awesome. I have taken it hiking, camping, and used it around my house. It is strong, but not too heavy. The blade has hacked through 3 inch branches with minimal effort. The saw back is a little cantankerous because it seems to clog with wood if its not dry wood. It’s a fantastic tool for bushwhacking. The little knife that comes with it is cool to. It could use a better handle but works all the same. I don’t really feel the need to take another blade when I go on a hike, this thing has me covered well.

This machete has it all – sharp blade, serrated edge, smaller knife included…and the case attaches very nicely to your belt making it a handy device that is always available so you can be “at the ready”. Ready for what, you might ask? Well, imagine you are in your backyard and a band of miscreants wander in and threaten to beat you about the head and face. Brandish the weapon to let them know you won’t be toyed with. If that doesn’t scare them off immediately you can throw the small knife at their leader to take him out. Use the business end of the machete to take care of the rest of them. When the dust settles, you can simply carve them up into manageable pieces using the serrated edge. (Pro tip: If you bury them, be sure to plant a protected species of foliage on top of them so the local law enforcement department will be less likely to go digging around). At the end of the day, the machete has proven to be your best friend. Definitely will be purchasing another one. We live in a bad section of town…..

Amazing knife for the price. A cross between a hatched, knife, saw and machete. Heavy duty. Only “Con” is the plastic handle. Will try wrapping in paracord or maybe Plastic Dip? Big selling point…Lifetime Warranty…but read the fine print: “Send the product in its original box for proof of purchase along with an explanation of defect.” Yes, you must save the box for the rest of your life. You can register your product on camillusknives dot com. I sent an email asking if once registered I still have to save the box. Will update if they respond.Update: Put a section of 700/30-40C inner tube on the handle…much better feel! Had to apply heat with hair dryer to get it to go. See photo.Update 2: Washed the tube section with soap and water, improves the grip.Update 3: Correction…tube is a 700/35-43C. A tight fit, like a second skin. No word about warranty yet.

I was skeptical that this was going to be large enough for my weekend warrior work, but this tool proved to be an excellent addition to my toolset. More than enough length to get a good swing for cutting branches and roots, small enough to wield in tight spaces, and fits comfortably at my waist with the beltloop sheath. The blade is solid metal and thicker than most other tools and the saw works really good.

Bought one of these at walmart years ago and is still holding up. Bought these as a gift for friends on a camping trip few weeks ago. Will cut through few inch thick branches and saw spine works get also.

OMG! This “knife” is sharp! Cut myself just getting it out of the scabbard!Super lightweight, well balanced and stayed sharp after a whole day of brush clearing! The burly, gnarly-looking saw works great on larger limbs and is also too sharp to touch. I have no idea how I will sharpen it when it gets dull, I’ll have to use a round file between the zig-zag of razor teeth I guess, but I digress. MAKE SURE TO BUY THE CARNIVORE X WITH THIS FEATURE! I’ve noticed some come with it, some do not…. The gut hook worked well for “grabbing” branches to pull them out of the way; though it cut through most of them with any tugging…!I bought the 12″ for around the house and the 8″ to keep in the truck and for backpacking to split kindling cut light firewood. After using the 12″, I think I can leave my hatchet at home now. I am VERY impressed with the quality this knife/machete has displayed so far.I will be recommending THIS brand to all my friends as long as they keep their price-point and quality intact.

Somehow, I was mowing my lawn and lost my older one in the lawn (I carry it on my mower to cut low hanging twigs and branches in my way). I think it fell through the floor of the mower. I searched for it, but could not find it. So, I just had to have another one. This is bigger and better…quite hefty. Love it! Now, I can cut bigger branches.

Didn’t know My son had one. I took his out and beat the hell out of it. Works great. I’m cleaning a Creak out from the back side and its thick I needed something short that would hold up. Good buy for the price. I wil say I have small hands, My son Larger. Both agree handle could be better. Gloves work for larger hand but still slips in mine.

I melted the handle off, because the ABS felt cheap, slick, didn’t fit my grip particularly well. Prior to removing the handle, I would have given this machete maybe ….3.5 stars. After removing the handle, and simply wrapping a bit of grip tape around the tang instead, immediate 5 stars. I love chopping things up with this. Nicely weighted, feels sturdy, feels menacing but isn’t out of hand.

We grow a variety of things in our garden, but before it freezes, it’s time to clean out. This was the perfect tool for cutting vines, canes, and easer stuff, too. Would recommend – nice sheath and smaller knife, too. Both were quite sharp – only time and usage will reveal how they keep their edge and are easily sharpened.
