I have purchased products from Tacticon before, so when I received an email about this pack, I didn’t hesitate to check it out. I decided to order one and to my surprise, Jake shipped it out the same day via 2-3 day priority mail at no extra cost. My package arrived much quicker than I had anticipated.I was impressed from the product description of the features of the pack, and when I got my hands on it, I was pleased to see that the description and reality matched. This is a very functional pack at a very affordable price. You can tell Jake and his team have put thought and careful planning into this design. What I was not surprised with as a repeat Tacticon customer was the excellent customer service. Jake hand wrote a note thanking me for purchasing this pack which was a nice touch. You can tell how invested he is in the company, its workers, and its products. Truly refreshing to see an owner and a company that stakes itself on its products and customers. From first glance, the pack looks to be of good construction and material. Time will tell how it holds up and performs, but for the price, I do not hesitate to say that this is a good deal. And I know Jake and Tacticon stand behind their products. Only thing I would add is I wold definitely pay more to have this made in the US! But I do know the business side of things and as I said, this is a great design and well built product. Always pleased to support a veteran owned company. Thanks Jake!

Ok, so let me tell you that when I ordered this pack, I was not at all expecting it to have this much room. From the looks of it. It looks like it would hold far less than a regular book bag, let me tell you that I put all the same stuff I had in my Swiss Guard book bag I use for college and then some. I still have plenty of room for my 40 Cal, with two magazines and all my cables for my computer fit far more comfortably and more organized than the Swiss pack did. Totally blew me away to be honest I was not at all expecting that. I have a a nice Lenovo Thinkpad I believe is around 11.5″ in width and it fits perfectly in there. Anyway let me just say that I am a retired Veteran and have seen many military style bags come and go in my 20 years, so I know quality when I feel it. This bag is pretty darn nice and it is definitely great for a short term bug out bag and absolutely will be perfect for your laptop or like I have a think pad with plenty of reasonable room left over. Hope this review helps you guys

This is a well made, stout backpack. The materials seem to be of quality and there are definitely plenty to places to put everything including the kitchen sink. The strap clips were a little tight I guess you’d say and didn’t initially want to come apart easily but I’m sure will smooth out with use. I bought this as am emergency bag for the truck as it has the ability to hold 2x more than most other backpacks and can do it securely. Just looking at the volume of this bag, I would have though the shoulder straps would have had a bit more padding in them, almost like the Swiss backpacks that are sold everywhere. As I won’t be carrying this every day, it’s hard to give an accurate review other than first impressions. Directly inside the main zipper was a “Made in China” tag which was a little upsetting but I think that was just for the insert that was sewn into that part of the bag “Benefit of the doubt”.

I have been looking for a backpack to keep in my car for kind of an EDC / emergency get home bag. I plan to keep a change of clothes, flashlight, matches, multi-tool etc. in it, and had originally purchased a different bag, which is really nice, but ultimately turned out to be a little small to hold everything I wanted (primarily the clothes). It was a 34L bag, then I purchased a 45L bag which was a little too big for this intended use, but that was fine because it works excellent as a over night backpack when traveling. I think this uni, being a 40L size, will be perfect size for my needs.Build quality seems solid, has double stitching on seams, feels of decently heavy duty material, and has enough pouches for my needs. I took some pictures of it with my laptop bag (which is pretty good size/weight) to show what its capable of swallowing up. With the dedicated sleeve for laptops, this might be a good work bag for people too.Seller was super quick to get it to me, and I found out that this is a Veteran owned operation, so I’m happy to support them!

I recently received notification that Jake was releasing his 3 day assault pack and it piqued interest. Price was right and Jake is a good guy to do business with in my experiences so why not give it a shot and support one of the little guys that’s a good guy? I ordered it up and here’s my initial review!!!I will expand in this later these are just my initial thoughts.Thoughtful in lay out.Easy access even to put in a bladder thanks to extra zippers.Subdued American flag patch is a dang nice touch for this cold war kid.Material and stitching appears to be top notch.Material feels a little lighter than my other name brand packs but when you understand nylon and polyester doesn’t need to be super heavy to be strong it’s a good option. Medium Alice pack is a good example.Shoulder straps could use a bit more padding for some.Buckles buckles buckles!!! Compression straps abound!!! I really like that!!Holster in a pouch is nice. All in all its a dang nice pack that should rival packs costing many times the price with big names on them. I’ll expand on this and clean it up as I can. Overly tired eyes and phone screens don’t play well together.

First of all – the owner is a combat vet. Thank you for service. 2nd – thank you for taking the time to personally write a letter to me , to thank me for being a customer. 3rd – I was excited to see this get delivered. Like a little kid on Christmas day – I couldn’t wait. Tore the plastic bag open to get to the inside. This backpack, honestly was more than what I expected. I bought this backpack because many of my zippers on my hiking backpack were getting harder and harder to open and close. It was only a matter of time before my stuff goes sprawling across the ground. This is the first time I bought a tactical type of backpack. And I’m beyond happy to have gotten this one. It has more compartments, more space, feels more substantial, zippers look and feel better. I can even put a small lock on any of them!!! I’ve got webbed belts with buckles everywhere to help support whatever I choose to hold inside. Folks – if you want a bag that gives you options – this would be it. My mind is going crazy thinking of stuff I can either add or modify to suit my likes. You can’t build something great without having a good foundation!!! This backpack is my good foundation. Thank you Jacob!!!

Update. 02/09/20205 days after return period ends the plastic buckles have started snapping apart. Pack is not overloaded by any means. Could be defective moldings. Who knows. Fabric and zippers are still holding up great.Been using this daily for a couple of months so far. Initial quality appeared quite good. So far I have had zero problems with the backpack. Zippers have held up well. Pack is normally heavily packed and zippers are normally the first to fail. For those who fill their bags to space capacity this one is worth considering. There are clup straps , 2 each side and a 3 point strap over the top to relieve pressure from the zippers. The firearm holster works well for a full sized frame semi auto as well as additional magazines. Initially I would have preferred a black setup due to dirt and such. The tan is weathering surprisingly well for resistance to dirt and water. This is not water proof however water resistance is very good. For the price this is an excellent option available.

I had my 5.11 backpack stolen over a year ago. The stuff I had inside was irrelevant. The hardest part was thinking about replacing a bag that had crossed the pond with me so many times. The tabs and patches will never be replaced. I am retired now and that piece of my history is gone. When I read that Tacticon was selling a tactical backpack, and in my price range, I jumped on it. When it arrived, I took my gear out of my son’s Adidas backpack that I was using, and OWNED this thing in 15 minutes. I found a patch that I am quite fond of and after a week of using, I am confident to say, this backpack is sturdy and comfortable. Jacob Dines, you have my respect. You have produced an excellent product.

I love this backpack and wish I could give it more than 5 stars. I got it to hold my camera gear and a few essentials (like a change of clothing) when I travel and it is great. I had some leftover foam from redoing some chairs so I cut that to fit my equipment as padding, so the bag can hold even my 800mm lens, and it was a lot cheaper than the bags/backpacks made for camera gear. There are a bunch of pockets: 1 large/main compartment with a padded place to hold either a tablet or laptop; a second, slimmer compartment; and then two smaller compartments on the front (one at the top and one, larger one at the bottom). In addition, there is another zippered compartment in the back that is slim but very useful for things like travel documents and/or maps. I put a bit of padding in the main compartment, which is where I store my camera and lenses. The bag has some padding already, but I use the foam to keep the camera and lenses separated and protected. I use the second main compartment for clothing (or whatever), and then the two front pouches contain things like batteries, cables, memory cards, etc. THe botttom small pouch (and it isn’t all that small, after all) is padded, so I’m comfortable putting things like my Kindle inside that pocket–it fits fine and has the pouch padding to protect it. Inside the main compartment is another pocket which could be used to hold an MP3 player as there is a small, flap-covered opening directly above it for use with wired headphones/buds. There are additional small pockets inside the other compartments, so with all the straps, etc, you can pretty much attach/bring along, anything you desire.Note: There is no side pocket for a water bottle, but I have a reusable water bottle with a loop so I just attach it to one of the straps and then tuck it beneath some of the side straps so that it doesn’t swing around too much when I’m walking and that works just fine. On the other side, I attach my tripod in a similar fashion, i.e. secure it to the top loop with a small bungee, and then tuck the tripod under the side straps to keep it from swinging around when I walk–that works for me. Your mileage may differ. The small, topmost pouch also has the “fuzzy side” of velcro on the front, so if you have gear that has the hook side of velcro on it, you can attach it in that area–there is also a bit of elastic looped through that area so that anything attached with velcro can be further secured under the elastic.Because the gear can be heavy when the bag contains everything, I especially like the fact that there is both a chest strap and a waist strap to keep the padded shoulder straps in place and more evenly distribute the weight. The bag is therefore super easy and comfortable to carry, despite the weight. There are numerous straps that can be used with clips to carry more gear, as well.Overall, the bag seems to be very well made. The reverse side of the canvas has a rubbery coating to help make the bag water resistant. Since the zippers aren’t covered by flaps, I wouldn’t rely on the bag to be waterproof, per se, but it is certainly better protected than many bags I’ve used in the past.It works as a travel bag/camera bag for me and fits under a seat on the airlines. For me, it has been the perfect solution without costing the earth, and it’s more flexible than a standard camera bag. When I don’t want my camera gear with me (which is almost never, but still…) then it works as a good travel bag and can hold several days’ worth of clothing and necessities. It is great for camping/hiking because I can set it on the damp ground and not worry about getting my clothing or other stuff wet thanks to the rubbery coating on the reverse side of the canvas.Frankly, this is the most useful thing I own at the moment.
