I purchased the 15-inch Retro Buffalo Hunter Messenger Bag. It arrived on time. I bought it for my husband, and he absolutely loves it. It has a rugged feel and look that outshines the average leather bag. The color is slightly lighter than the image portrays, but still a rich brown color. The bag feels as thick heavy leather should. The frame of the bag is more rigid while the flap is soft and flexible. The strap is still stiff, but I imagine it will become more flexible over time. It gives the impression of an “Old West” saddlebag, sturdy, weather-beaten and well-traveled.The only problem that we had was that the clasps would slip through and the bag would open if pulled. By pulled I mean that when Hubby put items in the bag (an iPad and some pads of paper) and lifted it the clasps would slip through the openings. We rectified this by gluing some leather on the back of the clasps (see pix) to make them fit more snugly. It was an easy fix, so I did not see reducing the rating to 4 stars because of this one glitch. We probably could have fixed this issue by flattening the clasp holder (the metal bar that holds the clasps in place), but we didn’t want to take the chance of ruining the finish or breaking them.Overall, I would highly recommend this bag to anyone, the interior is spacious and lined with a gender neutral pattern. Had I known how awesome this bag was I might have bought one for myself too! I still might!

I am so so so happy with this bag!! I love the worn look, I love that it looks like it has a lot of stories. I like matching my bags with my outfits and this goes with black, brown, everything just like I hoped. I work on the road and out of my car so I need something sturdy. I was worried this would be floppy and I didn’t want that. That is not the case at all. It is stiff and has nice dividers on the inside and beautiful fabric. Looks vintage feels and smells brand new! It’s so perfect I want to buy a back up for down the road. Get this bag!

I was at a business meeting yesterday and decided to bring this bag, instead of my traditional black leather briefcase. I love it! As a female working in an industry were I am surrounded by males, this bag is an attention getter. The rest of the participants did not sport anything of such quality. For the price and the quality is truly amazing. It is very easy to open and close with the magnetic clasps on the closures. Here me when I say this… no matter your business, school or personal needs, you’re going to be very satisfied with Retro Buffalo Hunter Leather Carrier. Stunning inside and out.

I love my new bag! Looks great and my computer fits perfectly. It’s a little stiff at first, but that’s expected; I’ve been working the leather, so it’s starting to get a lot softer. Great overall construction. Solid bag!

I received this item last night so I am hesitant to give it anything other than 3 stars for the time being as I feel like a review on a product like this should express the experience of rigidity and longevity of use. I will give my first impressions of the bag though as they are quite good.Upon opening the Amazon box, I found the bag wrapped in a clear plastic cover with no branding or anything. There is also no branding on the bag anywhere which I LOVE. It adds the aesthetic and feeling of being an ole trustworthy leather bag, which is what I was looking for.The buckles and clips on the strap appear to be brass or at the very least some sort of brass substitute. Hard to tell because they feel a bit light. They seem sturdy though and compliment the look of the bag.The leather as far as I can tell is pretty nice. Very nice actually. Good scent and feel. It’s pretty stiff right out of the box but I am sure it will loosen up over time and honestly I look forward to putting it through it’s paces in that regard. The buckles on the pockets that lock to the flap of the bag seem to be pretty good. Again, I am not sure how they will hold up over time but based on the design and how they are attached, it seems like it will hold up just fine. And it’s a pretty elegant, easy to use design. The strap itself feels good and keeps its length pretty well when adjusted. I carried my stuff for work in it today and the strap, again, didn’t change length on me. The shoulder pad on the strap isn’t anything to write home about in terms of comfort. Its just 2 pieces of leather sandwiched on each side of the strap with some stitching. This is the part of the exterior that would worry me the most in terms of durability. But it looks and feels fine for now.The lining is a thin checkered fabric which is attractive but feels like it could be susceptible to snagging and tearing if you kept sharp corners in your bag. The same material lines the pockets of the bag and this would be my biggest gripe so far. The lining is sewed on in such a way that it sits snug against the zipper of the 2 pockets. There are also feathered parts of the fabric right where it meets the zipper so it’s pretty much begging to get snagged in the zipper unless you go out of your way to tuck them in while you zipping and unzipping. This bothers me but I also don’t feel like it’s something I can’t live with. It’s an 80 dollar, all leather bag which to me presents a pretty good value. I can handle trimming the loose ends and even mending some of the fabric if need be. But I also have the tools to do so, so this may be a real deal breaker for someone who is looking for something a bit more perfect and put together.Everything else checks out for me though. I was feeling a little bit of buyers remorse when I found the KomalC bag on Amazon. It had so many good reviews and the lining looked a little better. But once I received this one, I felt pretty good about it. I feel happy with my purchase and think this will serve me well. The handle is sturdy and attractive. All the leather looks great and feels good. Great scent to it as well. It fits my belongings just fine, has plenty of room in the front pockets, looks awesome. The only thing that I have to worry about going forward is going to be the lining and the durability of some of the moving parts, buckles, ect. As of right now I’d say it was worth purchasing and I look forward to putting it though some hell to see if it holds up.Update 7/23/2018:So far this has held up quite nicely. I’ve been taking this to work every single day, tossing it in the car and putting it through its paces. The fabric is holding up fine which was an initial concern. The leather looks better each passing day that it sees wear and use. I was contacted by the seller via email to talk to them before giving anything less than a 5-star review and incentivized with a leather journal if I did so. While I understand that their concern comes from a good place, I think that approach is pretty off putting and disingenuous. Makes me wonder what lengths other merchants will go through to get more stars on their listings. I am bumping my review up to 5-star from 3 because I genuinely believe it’s deserved. (I doubt i’ll get their freebie anyway lol). But I would recommend that the merchant be weary of incentivizing 5-star reviews with freebies and handouts. It’s not a very appealing practice in my eyes. In regards to the bag though, it’s been a great daily driver and most if not all of my initial concerns have not been an issue thus far. Though I will say that the zipper on the top of the bag is pretty useless if you plan on putting more than 1 or 2 books in this thing.

If you like real leather and the base for a unique distressed look, this is the bag. Distressing comes from your own everyday use. So don’t get upset when it doesn’t look like the bag in the pics, give it time to settle and you will have that unique antique distressed look as if you’ve had the bag for years. Locking clasps with a zipper makes of great for travel. And it’s leather.. rain won’t bother it. Live looked for months at messenger bags. This is the one. My 15” screen (14” wide) laptop fits with room to upgrade to a 15” wide machine.

I purchased this bag because my Sampsonite bag was looking pretty tired. I didn’t realize how tired it looked until the new bag showed up. The leather on this bag is awesome – tons of character and thick. On my previous sampsonite, the leather seemed almost like it was painted on and as the bag wore, the color would peel off exposing a grayish almost fabric like material. This bag is nothing like that. The leather is real all the way through and is it wears, it gains more character rather than looking cheap and beat up. The inside liner on this bag is very nice, looks good, and keeps everything in it’s place. It’s smaller than my previous bag and at first I thought this would be a problem. However, it easily holds a laptop, chargers, phone, ipad, and a few large files with no problem. It’s actually better than carrying a larger bag that tends to become cluttered – I carry only what I need now and am more productive because I don’t use the bag as storage and then forget what’s in it. Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase. I’ve bought a ton of stuff on Amazon, and have only written a few reviews – only when something is really good or really bad will I take the time to review and this bag is really good – especially for the price. At the mall, a bag like this would be $300 + assuming you could even find one. At this price it’s an excellent value. I never thought laptop bags could be so interesting, but I’ve had this for about 3 months now and about 5 or 6 people have complimented me and asked where I got it so they could order one. In the 25 years I’ve been in the business world, this has never happened once until now. I’m sure you’ll be happy with this – great quality, real/thick leather (not the fake pleather crap), nice inside liner, perfect size, tons of character, and the best price I’ve seen.

I’m posting this review after 3 months of daily usage. This bag has held up great to normal daily usage and travel. I was a little concerned with the uniform color when I first received the bag but it has distressed nicely over the past 3 months. The storage for both large items (for me an 18″ laptop and a 13″ iPad Pro) and small items (chargers, pens, notebooks) is adequate for business purposes. My only complaint with the bag is the shoulder strap is a little flimsy and I worry it may deteriorate over time.Overall this is a pretty solid bag for the price. Similarly built bags are normally in the $150-$200 range.

This bag is amazing. Ordered for my 13″ laptop and photography portfolio. I was worried it would come like the image a customer reviewed as that was the only photo. Proved wrong! Not only is it beautifuly distressed in color, but it also has a key and locks, which I was unaware of.Great buy.The photo does no justice. It’s gorgeous!

I love the style of this bag. I purchased the bag to have a more professional look when carrying my laptop. This bag does fit my laptop which is an asus 15 inch laptop. Its a snug fit but does fit. The leather strap that holds the laptop is too short for this machine but not a negative point in my book since its snugness in the bag. I have plenty of room for other items and the front pockets are great for the power cord and mouse. Following some other reviews I treated it with mink oil. Would highly recommend this bag to anyone looking for a stylish bag.
