Beautiful reddish-brown color…thick and pleasing to the eye…have not dented or eroded at all, even with some rather ham-fisted, adult usage. A very high, cutting sound if you hold one of them with a traditional, “underhand” grip and strike it in the correct spot without damping out the sound with the rest of your hand. I would honestly think that you could hear these in even the largest, loudest drum circle.

These do a good job for the price. I use them on occasion when claves are needed. Not really the brightest sound, and take a bit of a whack to really project (currently using them with a community band). But the tone is decent, and they sound decent enough.

Right size, just a little large width for my small hand, but the sound is great! The wood splintered but I taped it up and still using them. Great sound!

I was helping at the Middle School and noticed their original Meinl claves were pretty kid-used beat up. Now for close to 20 years of use it was a good testimony to the rosewood (I assume) durability of the product.I purchased replacements and they arrived promptly. Good feel, good sound, stain doesn’t come off on your hands.Meinl is a German company so you likely pay a few bucks for import, but I feel its worth it as I’ve used many of their products and only the shakers feel apart on me.

This is the first set of claves I’ve ever owned. I got them for an upcoming singing gig where we need some sound to accent the drums. I had to watch video about holding them properly to get the best sound out of them. They’re working well so far.

These have a wonderful pitch and need to be held correctly to get the full sound out of them. I mean it’s solid, yet light, higher pitched, priced right. You get a great product for the money. No need to spend anymore on a clave unless you have the money to spend and/or you are professional. Even at that point it still does a great job.

I bought a pair of these claves for my music classroom because the ones I had kept getting taken from me. These were relatively cheap and I didn’t expect much from them. They proved me wrong though! I am able to get a loud, clear, and strong sound from them. They are a little on the smaller side, which made me think they were going to be quiet but my orchestra has no problem hearing them over their playing. If they ever fall apart, I’ll definitely be buying another pair.

These are claves. My daughter wanted them as she was learning to play them with a rhythm teacher in school. She was asking for a set for Christmas. Then I saw the price and just bought them and gave them to her.For what they are, they are inexpensive and work really well. They can play loud and they can play soft. She loved them. Though, I can’t remember the last time she actually played them.

This Claves are not only affordable but the sound is great and looks good too. I’m ready to play along with my favorite salsa records! And the people who said they dent easy just don’t beat them so hard go easy on them and not only you will get a good sound but a lot of milelage out of it.
