Let’s just get this in the open, I am not a drummer. When I needed something simple, portable, elegant, and easily used by anyone this little Djembe really hit the spot. I primarily play guitar, bass, and other stringed instruments – mostly in the basement with some friends. A small footprint, good sound, and affordability were my focuses when picking this out.At the time of writing this review I’ve had the drum for a month and have gotten some good time on it.If you’re looking for something with a deep bass tone this isn’t the drum for you. It’s small and petite which is directly correlated to the tones it produces. For the price the sound is great. The resin body does produce a more crisp sharper tone with less resonance than wood. I’m sure the authentic goatskin head plays a big role in the quality sound.Not only is the drum small but it’s also really lightweight. As I said above it’s resin, not wood , so it’s really lightweight! Carrying this drum around from place to place is effortless. You can carry it by the handle with a single finger and have no strain.Aesthetically, the fabric covering is a really attractive and an eye-catcher. The head of my drum was very tight, no loose or weak spots. The rope is strung very securely, I have no concerns of this loosening on it’s own.The drum was packaged and shipped with care. I was worried about getting a lower cost plastic body drum, sometimes manufacturers and Amazon are a bit careless. This was packaged really well.Overall, I would absolutely recommend this to someone if they want small and lightweight. The sound quality is spot on for my needs. I think this would make a great beginner and hobbyist instrument.

This djembe has amazing sound quality. My ten year old has already started playing things on it and loves it. A good friend who has played various drums over decades was shocked that this was an amazon purchase and how great it sounds for how affordable it is. Well done on making a great drum!

I bought this for my daughter for her 25th birthday. She loves everything African and she loves music. She definitely loves this drum. She is only starting to play, but loves the sound and the quality. I would definitely recommend this product!

We’ve owned a few different instruments in our family, but never an African drum. Though it’s possible that we are not playing it properly, we can say it was easy to pick up and enjoy. The sound is lively and strong. The video doesn’t really do it justice; it’s a great deep drum sound.The craftsmanship is high- from the carving of the elephant to the tying of the string. The goatskin is smooth and strong.This is a fantastic addition to your instrument collection. It’s sure to please. Our whole family enjoys playing it and creating the African drum sounds.
