After a first outing, this seems to be just the sleeping bag we were looking for to use for some winter camping. Stayed nice and warm overnight as the temperatures dropped into the low teens on this outing. It was nice and fluffy when layed out, but easy to repack and packs down small. Liked that it is slick fabric on the inside so that it is easier to roll over without the bag getting all twisted up. Seems like a great bag for the cost, real value. The vendor also communicated with us a couple of times about how to care for the bag – nice personal touch. I appreciated having the opportunity to shop with a smaller company and look forward to doing more business with Hyke & Byke as we need more outdoor gear.

I first encountered this sleeping bag whilst doing a search on youtube for the highest rated sleeping bags of last year. There were multiple categories but since I’m a value guy, I wanted something that gave me the most bang for my buck.The review pointed to this bag as a clear winner. After comparing this to the TETON LEEF 0 that I have, I can say that this is about 50% more expensive but it’s worth it. For a bag of this quality (YKK zippers, high quality (not the cheap generic type) velcro, and nylon inner shell) to only cost 120$ ish is really unusual.I’m very satisfied with this after testing it last night. I give it a rare recommendation.

Hard to roll.Fold with the zipper on the inside fold.Fold in half, start as tight as possible.Start at the bottom.Pushing the air out as you go.Keep as tight as possible.At last part where the hood is,Sit on the partially finished roll and push out all the remaining air as much as possible from hood end.Finish rolling, holding it to prevent the air from getting inside.Ease into bag.Pushing air out with your fist right down the middle.Fasten together.

Weather on my Shasta 10k feet can be quite cold at night. No problem this bag while not being the lightest is a deal and can handle 25 degree weather no problem. I’m 5’10 160 lbs. I got the large sized which allows me to move around inside it without the claustrophobic feeling in feet and shoulders. I love it. Sleep without clothing. It has a shoulder baffle to keep warm air in around the body and you could literally cocoon yourself in with the good draw around the head.

I love love love this sleeping bag! This was my first big girl purchase for camping (RIP sleeping bag that got me through middle school sleepovers). It is a bit tricky to pack back up, but all good light weight sleeping bags take time 😉 This keeps me warm for camping and backpacking, but I bought a bag liner to go with this for colder more frigid nights. I’m always one to be cold, but I’ve had some incredible sleeps in this bag for camping! Love the features in this mummy bag as well. I love this brand and what they stand for as well.

I took this on a good long hike this weekend. Temps were in the very low to mid 30’s F and I had to unzip the bag almost completly to manage the heat. I’m glad I had a liner to help with sweat but after freezing so many times with crappy bags it was a pleasant suprise. I will be taking it and testing it down to at lead the low 20’s to teens this winter and update when possible. It packed very small and feels like a very good buy. It feels to be of good materials and construction and the great compression sack is a real bonus. I had to pay a third of the cost of this bag and compression sack, to get an older bag a compression sack that left the other °15 bag still double its size. Considering the total cost only being about $30 more for the new bag that is money well spent.

I recently took this bag on an overnight backpacking trip in northeast Connecticut. Love the compressibility for space saving in my pack. Also, small features like the inside pocket are great! Put my water filter in it to prevent freezing. The temps dipped to the mid 30’s and I was perfectly warm. So far this bag performs as advertised and I’m happy, especially for the price!

Recently used the Hyke and Byke bag on a week-long backpack trip in the Southern Utah canyons . Temperatures ranged from 30-42 degrees. It was very warm, almost too warm. The bag performed well, was easy to pack, and maintained its form. I think it performed as well as the down bags this company makes. Another winner!

I’ve only used it for about a week’s worth of nights, so I can’t speak for its durability, but I can tell you that it’s quite warm. I was very comfortable in the bag wearing just shorts and a t-shirt while the outside temp was in the 30s, so I could see this bag being serviceable down into the single digits. It fit neatly into the sleeping bag compartment of my 65L pack so I’m happy with the size. Didn’t measure the weight, but it won’t bog you down. The only thing questionable about it is durability, as the material feels a bit delicate in the hand. I’d be extra careful to avoid anything that could scratch or rip it. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase so far.

I bought 2 of these. One for my 12 year old son and one for my husband. My son is in boys scouts and has taken this sleeping bag on 2 camp outs. The first camp out the temperature reached 21 degrees. He and my husband both were very warm in their sleeping bags. My husband had to come out of some layers to cool off through out the night. The second campout, the temperature reached 9 degrees. I attended this particular campout and I had on thermal undies. At one point, I unzipped a section of my sleeping bag so I could get some cool air. I also took off my beanie. They compressed well and were light weight to carry in on a back pack camp out. The company sent directions on how to care for your bag. It came in very handy because we are all new to camping out.My son is about 4’10” and weighs about 90lbs. We got him the regular size.My husband is 6’3” and weighs about 215. I am 5’4” and weighs about 145. I ordered us the regular size as well. I fit comfortably in the bag and have room to move around. My husband also fits into the bag and doesn’t have as much room but he is able to move around as needed.I purchased these bags because of the price. Since using these bags, a couple other families have purchased this brand for their kids. It is a great bag for a great price.
